They were just given out according to size

SIZE IN COPENHAGEN. At the time of the national election in 1896 the largest party was Venstre, followed by an offshoot of Venstre called like "Moderat Venstre", followed by Højre, followed by the Social Democrats. You will note that the only one that fits with the system is C for Konservative/Højre.

Socialistisk Folkeparti chose F because it's the first letter in Folkeparti.

No they got it because at the time they were standing for election A (Socialdemokraterne), B (Radial Venstre), C (Konservativ), D (Venstre), and E (Retsforbundet, a party that has not existed since the 80s) were taken.Parties were only allowed to choose their own letter by 1968, at which point the socialist people's party had been around and Aksel Larsen had been a CIA agent for 10 years.

Okay so back the year 1900 preparing for the big election of 1901 they figured needed a way to quickly hand count votes and to so they assigned each party a single letter so the counters just had to flip through and count the As, Bs, Cs, etc.When this system was made the letters were assigned based on the party's size in the Copenhagen municipal system.

A was the social democrats (Socialdemokraterne)B was the Social Liberals (Radikale Venstre)C was the Conservatives (Konservative)D were the Liberals (Venstre) etc.

Now this system had the dangerous ability to make some sense, so parties started being allowed to request their own letter, so Venstre wanted a V, leaving D open, and some parties stopped existing and new ones were formed just taking whatever letter was open or whichever they felt was fitting.

"Ålen" was "cancelled" for rampant, repeated and systemic sexual assault in the form of being told that it was kind of gross that he encouraged high school and early college girls to give him lap dances and fuck management at his company.

The only public person grosser than Ålen was Jørgen Leth, a proud and admittedremoved and partaker in child sexual slavery who the entirety of the Danish establishment got really offended on behalf of when it was suggested that maybe you can't purchase the right to children's genitalia.

the unity list recently kicked out a bunch of the old guard of communists that created the party because they were too enthusiastic about supporting Palestine. Or so I'm told

Not to my knowledge A lot of the founding parties have disassociated themselves and then reassociated themselves over and over again over various matters, but the Red-Greens never kicked out the marxists, that would require having a hard line even if it was a negative one.

They got some wind in the sails early on, but lost most of it when they released a calendar with pictures of a bunch of the party members' members.

This undersells it. The dick pic collage was made at the request of the head press officer and was implied to be an order from the head of the party, meaning that a lot of people felt pressured to send the pics or risk their political careers. This was in part seen as problematic because Uffe Elbæk, said party leader, is a gay man and this was interpreted (IMO rightfully, but suspiciously) as sexual harassment.Uffe Elbæk would later quit the party when in the wake of his 1000th scandal a new party leader was elected and he thought it was unfair that he didn't get to be the leader of the party any more, so he made a new one which almost immediately collapsed. (At which point he rejoined The Alternative)

They're social democrats. Started by a CIA asset in the 60's or something. Another party I haven't kept up to date with.

Axel Larsen was the leader of DKP from 1932 to 1958 (Having previously been a trot until Trotsky got exiled at which point he converted to traditional ML thought with the idea of developing it based on Danish conditions), however the tankie situation created a situation where Aksel Larsen agreed with the majority of the Danish left that the crackdown was wrong and had delegitimised the Soviet Union against the rest of the leadership of his own party who were "Kremlin faithfuls", it came to a vote and he got ousted and he became a CIA agent about it. Leaving the party, founding SF and feeding info on communists to the CIA.

SF since served as the left wing of the Social Democratic party, a role that last had any fucking meaning under Jens Otto Krag, the last social democratic prime minister who even pretended the party was actually social democratic
