Dark loading screen is offputting in light mode
Sometime recently, the page that shows while the content is loading got changed to have a dark color theme, even on light mode. This is slightly surprising for my eyes every time I click on a button to get a flash of dark and then light.
Comment age gets pushed offscreen
Seems to be new with v0.7.1.
Can't login on Photon or Tesseract
When I try to log in, I get the following errors.
Photon:
Your instance's API did not return your user data.
Tesseract:
Auth Error - Failed to fetch your user.
Not sure if anyone else faces the same issue.
No problem on the base ani.social or Voyager app btw.
Some new accounts automatically post in Portuguese?
external browser issues
Youtube links refuse to open in external browser, they always open on YouTube app, even though that's turned off and the app Is set to use external browser. I want my ad blocking please.
Thumbnails fail to load on private instances
When logged into a private instance, post thumbnails don't load. This is because Lemmy will reject all requests that aren't authenticated when the instance is set to private (thumbnails load after setting the instance back to public) and it seems to expect the HTTP call to contain the JWT in the cookies.
Wide images in the post body cause the text to shift off screen

It is readable for a moment, but then the image slides to the left and the text slides with it, causing the first part of every line to be off screen and unreadable
Upvotes not showing in profile
When I use boost for lemmy my upvotes are not displayed correctly. In the last days I upvoted many posts, but only one is showing in the account -> upvoted tab. If I upvote a post, and scroll later back to them they are still upvoted even after restarting the app later, but the tab does not contain them. Waiting a day or anytime frame to give it time to sync does also nothing.What can I do to see my upvotes again?
When there's a comment tagging me it won't fire a notification in the "Mention" tab and comment won't appear in the main inbox tab at all
When someone makes a comment or post that has my username tagged in it, it'll show in the "Mentions" tab if I manually go to it, but will not fire a notification or even show a red dot unread counter on the tab.
Moreover, if it was a comment that would have ended up in my main inbox anyways (E.g. as a direct reply to my post or to a comment of mine) it won't show in the main inbox at all
I assume it might be intentional to not show messages in the main inbox if it's showing in the mention tab, but without the Mention tab firing notifications that's rather...problematic lol
PieFed Bookmark Page doesn't show I've upvoted items
When I go to the Bookmarks page - Account - Bookmarks - I see the comments I've bookmarked, but they don't show I've already upvoted them. If I upvote it removes it, then I upvote again it shows green and my upvote.
Inbox not working
Updated to v268 - I now can't access the Inbox!
Black background when swiping closed returned on Android 15/Samsung One UI 7
A while ago, Sync contained a bug wherein swiping a post closed would display only a black background until the post closed fully, after which the feed would display as normal.
The behavior stopped for me when upgrading to Android 14/One UI 6.1, but is now recurring for me again on Android 15/One UI 7.0.

Not the full content from post when viewed in piefed vs in OP's home instance
I've encountered a bug, I think, where in piefed it didn't show the whole content of the post.

"img_image_proxy" attach instead of image on sharing image

More recently, when attempting to share some images to Element (chat client), I see the following:
I suspect this is file specific or mimetype, as it's consistent on a given image but doesn't seem to affect most images.
A source of an example image is https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/post/42991557 ...
In these cases, saving the same image then attaching it separately inside the chat client works normally.
Please let me know if I can help diagnose etc.
app crashes every time I download an image

Ever since the latest update, whenever I open an image post and go to download the image, the app crashes. This only happens to images, videos do not crash.
I don't get a warning or anything, it just exits the post and resets back to the main page with the default view.
If it helps, I also use cards 2.0 as my view.
This happened after repeatedly testing in order to make a good report:
Long user and/or instance names obscure additional comment info
Recently joined badge is barely visible here, while comment age and upvote percentage are both completely obscured
Missing subscriptions when the app is opened from a notification
If I receive a notification (for example, when someone replies to my post/comment), I tap on the notification to open the app, and then proceed browsing the app; when I open the left tray by swiping from left to right I can see my bookmarked communities (which include any multi-community that I've set up) but I can't see any of the communities I'm subscribed to.
Top post in feed (randomly?) gets stuck 50%-60% off the top of the screen
Time seems to cause this more than anything else and I cannot replicate at-will. (I have actually been trying to catch the condition that causes this for a few months, but finally gave up today.)
Backing out from other communities will sometimes trigger this, but not always. I have only noticed this on c/all. If it seems I have been in one community for a "bit of time" and have locked/unlocked my phone a couple of times, the chance of this occuring seems higher. (That theory is kinda bullshit, but it's something)
Reloading the feed from the main menu clears the condition. (I haven't checked if a standard feed refresh works after the last couple of updates. It usually hasn't worked.)
Sending DMs - person not found
I tried to reply to a DM and got "person not found". I replied on the web and it worked, so they definitely still exist.
