  • Obligatory "I'm not American". I'm a bit confused by this. Can anyone sue the president over an official act? Is that a thing? Didn't the Supreme Court basically say that he could walk outside, shoot a bystander, go back home and face no consequences?

As far as I know, lawsuits that involve rich/powerful individuals and another side with way less cash than them is to just postpone the hearing or drag it on long enough for the poorer side to give up or go bankrupt. Even if it actually succeeded, suing the president is something that could be escalated until it gets picked up by the currently right-leaning supreme court, isn't it?

  • Being cute?

  • Once in a lifetime pic.

Whoever took it must be really proud.

  • Thank you very much!

There's some power asynchronicities, like with having the dragon patron, and an inventory full of magic trinkets to full heal every short rest

Can I ask what you mean by this? The dragon patron bestows temp hp after a long rest, depending on the amount and rarity of attuned magic items. It doesn't interact with short rests and, even with three high-rarity attuned items, it's at most 30 temp hp only.

Am I missing some weird interaction here? I'd gladly patch that up if you could be a bit more specific.

    Occultist v1.0.4 - Revamped Warlock (DnD5e and DnD2024 compatible)

    cross-posted from: https://lemmy.world/post/26364695

This is the finished version of my Occultist class, a revamped Warlock that's meant to refine and streamline the OG class.

The Warlock is my favourite class in the game, but its reliance on short rests to recharge spell slots and the pitiful amount of invocations known turn DnD’s most customizable class into a boring slog of “I cast Eldritch Blast” and “As my first invocations, I take Agonizing Blast and Devil’s Sight. Again”.
By adding the Patron’s expanded spell list (which goes up to 9th level) automatically to their spells known, gaining more invocations (10, compared to the OG Warlock’s 8) and rebalancing the invocations (including adding higher level Pact-exclusive invocations up to 14th level), the INT-based Occultist allows for much greater build variety, while retaining what made the original class so loved by many.

The 1.0 update includes four Pact Boons (Blade, Chain, Talisman, Tome), four subclasses (Arch

  • The ghost has finally found a friend :)

  • Yeah, under 50% of the required signatures and it's just a few weeks from expiring, there's no chance this will succeed unless some big-name influencer gathers support for the petition, which at this point I doubt will happen.

It made some people talk about the problem, though. That's a step in the right direction.

  • This brings back good memories. I love your daily bunny posts, thanks a lot for sharing them!

  • That's a lot of unpaid labour.

  • I agree. In the days immediately following the APIcalypse, people attempted to move all their favourite niche communities to Lemmy, but the site's active userbase isn't there yet for that kind of content - much to my displeasure: I was only active in two/three niche communities back when I was a Reddit user, but they are pretty much nonexistent here, so I'm forced to include more generic communities in my Lemmy feed to keep it from drying up.

  • Oh, that's sad. No point in staying subscribed, then.

  • Amanita Design's point-and-click games are a joy to experience. Short, cute and relaxing, with a very unique and inspiring art style.

My favourite one is Machinarium, but Botanicula is a close second! It's free, so I really recommend giving it a try.

  • Really loved today's episode(s)!

I don't mind the slower episode release if we get this :D

  • Asimov, Clarke and Frank Herbert are, of course, in the top 3, but I particularly enjoy Dan Simmons as well. I loved both Hyperion and Ilium, he has a knack for weaving together half a dozen tales that have seemingly nothing in common. Downside is that you spend an entire book reading the buildup to the actual story, but I'm a Robert Jordan fan too, I'm accustomed to that.

    DnD 5e/Dnd 2024 homebrew community

    Universal link: [email protected]
    Alternate links:
    https://lemmyverse.link/c/[email protected]
    https://lemmy.world/c/dndhomebrew

DnDHomebrew is a community dedicated to sharing and giving feedback on homebrew material for DnD 5e (both 2014 and 2024). It doesn’t see regular activity, which is a nice change of pace from the UnearthedArcana subreddit (where low-quality homebrews are posted daily, and that only recently decided to finally ban AI), but it can get a bit monotonous in the long run.
I’ve tried keeping it active over the past few months, but writing quality homebrew takes time, so the are long hiatuses during which the community stays silent. There are other content creators sharing great pieces of homebrew, such as Consort’s playable dragons and magical items. However, I’d love to see more activity from other users as well.

Display inline media as links in DMs

First of all, congrats for going open-source! I know a lot of people asked for it, so I hope this will contribute to more Lemmy users giving Summit a try.

As for the request, I was reading this: https://lemmy.world/post/27017601

The post mentions a potential exploit regarding inline media being used to access the user's IP. I'm not tech savvy, but another developer in the comments acknowledged the issue and pushed a hotfix for their app to patch the issue, so I was wondering if Summit could do the same.

To make things clear, I know there's already an option to display inline media as links. I'm asking for an option that changes the behaviour of inline media in private messages only.

    Digimon Con 2025

This year's Digimon Con was packed with great content! Nobody made a post about this, so here it is.

If you want a written summary, this article has a pretty good one!

    Very short bullet point list:

    • Digimon World: Time Stranger, the new mainline Digimon title, releasing later this year on Steam, PS5 and Xbox Series. They introduced the setting (Shinjuku and Akihabara in the human world, and the city of Iliad in the digital world), some of the characters (including the two main protagonist and a few other side characters), and some of the Digimon that will make an appearance in the game (over 400, including Patamon, Gomamon and DemiDevimon as the starters, and all members of Olympos XII). They talk about the game from 9:45 to 35:41, or you can watch a condensed trailer [here](https:/

    Unearthed Arcana 2024: The Artificer

Copy-pasting u/marimbaguy715 from the Reddit page discussion:

For those who don't want to read it, it's fairly similar to the Tasha's class. Changes include:

    • Magical Tinkering crafts distinct items from a list
    • Infusions/Replicate Magic Item has changed in flavor but is very similar in function. You now no longer infuse non-magical items to make them magical, you're always replicating magic items. But all of the old infusions are included as magic items (if they don't already exist as magic items, like +1 Armor for Enhanced Defense). The major change here is that there are way more potential magic items you can make, as it gives you broad categories to pick from (e.g., at level 6, you can make any Uncommon Armor/Wand/Weapon that isn't cursed).
    • Flash of Genius now lets you know if a check or save succeeded or failed before you use it
    • Spell-Storing Item can go up to level 3 now, rather than level 2
    • Soul of Artifice's Cheat Death was changed slightly, and you no longer are going

Fontemon - World's first video game in a font!

    https://www.coderelay.io/fontemon.html

A surprisingly well-made font-based game with a dash of nostalgia and humour. It's not long (it took about 30 minutes to complete), but I had a lot of fun with it :)

You can play it as a browser game (https://www.coderelay.io/fontemon.html#player) or download the font (https://github.com/mmulet/font-game-engine/releases/download/1.0/fontemon_small.otf) and play it on the go on any word processor!

    Dungeons and Dragons @lemmy.world
    Aielman15 @lemmy.world

Apparently there was barely any change from the playtest version.

    Key points:

    • Bastions are acquired at lv5.
    • Each player has their own bastion. Bastions can be grouped together into one bastion, but they are still treated as different bastions for the purpose of mechanics, except that grouped bastions can defend each other from attacks.
    • Bastions can be populated with "basic facilities" (whose only purpose is flavour, apparently) and "special facilities". The latter provide actual tangible benefits by issuing orders to them during the "bastion turn" (once every 7 days). Special facilities are acquired as the players level up: two at 5th and 9th level, and one more at 13th and 17th level.
    • Both types of facilities come in three sizes: "cramped" (4 squares), "roomy" (16 squares) and "vast" (36 squares), and can be upgraded later on. Some special facilities may have a minimum size requirement.
    • The article provides three examples of special facilities. I'm not going to copy-paste
