I like how this is somehow comprehensible despite having no text.
Some internet historians in the future are going to be very confused.

Secret after eight business reason?
shhhhhh
whatever reason it is, hugs
Oh it's a good thing! But thank you :D
Best wishes for redacted
Thank you!
I think I have figured out Ted Cat's previous life. He was a stud cat, kept in a largish cage, never patted, never brushed, his only human contact to do with feeding, cleaning his cage. The only other cats were lady cats. And yet his nature is sweet and playful and friendly. He loves company. H won't stop eating crunchies so I have to restrict them. I think he'll turn out fine. 😊🤗😸
Poor little boy. He will learn about cuddles
😭
Story checks out. He sure looks like a stud
I am so tired I initially read that as Ted Cruz, the Florida senator and it was very confusing (though made a strange sort of sense until I got to the Crunchies bit....)
Daily exercises completed. I thought I'd better do it now before I succumb to bloated wallowing after cooking Mr Ps birthday lunch. It turned out to be one of the nicest roasts I've ever done, followed by an awesome chocolate cake which the Minipeelers helped with. All I can offer you is a picture of what's left of the cake
Now I can indulge in bloated wallowing!
Either that is a tiny kettle or that is the biggest piece of cake in entire the world! Ha ha
At the time my bench was still cluttered and I didn't want to use it as a backdrop. I wish it was the biggest piece of cake in the entire world; I want another piece but also want to leave some for everyone else!
Proud to say I have released the third book in my Van Diemen's Valley horror series - Revenge of the Flightless. Check it out if you have the time. Thanks :-)
Congratulations!
Thank you so much!
In time for xmas to get the series for the young Seagoon nieblings 👍🤗😊
haha perfect. Thank you :-)
I received the cat toys I ordered on Temu yesterday, and they seem to be a hit. I got one of those rings with trapped balls that roll around, and it is very light so moves around when she hits at the balls. I think that adds to the fun, and she seems quite convinced that there is a secret entrance to get at the balls from the inside as she keeps reaching in there to try and get them. The other toy is a small ball that vibrates periodically - I think its supposed to roll around by itself, but it just wobbles in place. That seems to be interesting enough for Miss Meow, and I think she believes it is an escaped ball from the ring toy as she has been playing with them together. I'm not sure how long it has before it is permanently lost under some furniture somewhere.
It does make me a bit sad I didn't realise her initial lack of interest in toys was because of the problems with her teeth. At least I can make it up to her a bit now. I might look into some other toys seeing as how well received these were.
Lack of interest in toys can be from their teeth?
From general pain and infection, which in Miss Meow's case was from badly infected teeth. When I got her she had problems with her mouth & skin infections, and I thought that after a couple of rounds of antibiotics and having four teeth removed that had been resolved, but it turns out the infection in the teeth was still there, and progressed over the course of a year to the point where she had to have all her teeth removed (it turns out she is FIV positive, which is why she was so succeptible to the infection). Not having a baseline for "normal" behaviour for her I thought her lack of interest in toys was just her personality, but she is much more active and playful now.
All my stuff is out of my old place and into my new 🎉 just a couple of things to drop at Vinnies and the end of lease clean to go.
I am a bit ashamed of how dusty the carpet is behind where some of the furniture was, and I can see all the marks and cobwebs on the walls. How much pre-cleaning do you do before getting in the cleaners? I am paying a reasonable price but I feel bad I haven't done more. Should I go and vacuum / wipe everything down tomorrow?
good morning

Haven't been in Fitzroy in a while... Yong's Green Food has closed down! :( that's sad, many good memories of going there with friends from another era. It does feel really weird getting around on PT again after 4 years of driving, I feel like I'm going backwards inside but the surrounds are clearly different.
Hello. I have not been able to sign into lemmy on my new phone, not that I am so self-absorbed to think my absence was noted lol.
But I am alive :)
How's your recovery going?
Good! Much better with that powerful otc codral lol - it's got some real good shit in it that makes me functional and human, rather than a snotty flu-goblin haha
Hey @[email protected] you were talking about crumpets yesterday well here is an airfryer version
Wow! Almost worth getting an air fryer for! Yummmm to the max!
Home and in bed after an artsy afternoon and evening out. I thought I would feel like watching something but I actually really feel like books, which is great news for the pile of hideously overdue titles around the house. It was great getting out of the house and doing something a little different and mind-tickling.
But it made me reflect on my way home how desperately I want to be done with my job and my workplace; I shouldn't have stayed on on a casual basis. I need to finish this project asap and gtfo. I really am ready even to just sell everything up and go wwoofing for a year to catch up on all the things I never got to to when I was younger.
Does anybody else not bother with playlists and just…add everything to liked songs on Spotify or is it just me
Pax day 2! Gosh, I didn't expect Rego to be hectic. I pretty much was on until my shift ended (I mean that's how shift work is lmfao but felt like there was no break to just breathe! Haha). Today is going to be even more hectic! But I am ready, locked and loaded.
Again, just checking in to say hi! Also was excited for tteokbokki last night, got it, and I just wasn't expecting how spicy it is. I should've gotten the non-spicy one. But I love tteokbokki so much 😭
Edit: also yesterday's final step count was 9.6k.
I'm rugged up on the couch with blankets and hot water bottle and hating every second of this miserable cold weather erruugghhghh. Am watching the Dark Side of the Ring doco - Chris Benoit episode and I forgot how tragic his story was :/
I’ve got the heating and electric blanket on. Going to be a cold night…. I really loved that warm day we had last weekend….
6.5k run with the doggo this morning. My longest run for about a year, and I feel great. Doggo looks very happy too. Was 5 seconds off a 30min 5k, which I'm pretty chuffed about to be honest.
I'm told the Weezer concert went well. I ate a whole bag of Twirls while the little dog watched. Everybody's gone to bed.

I have some serious questions. Do you use bleach? And if so why and on what? I know what it is but I've never had the need to use it. Ever.
I use it sometimes to soak white shirts that didn't respond to peroxide soakers. Used rarely and diluted appropriately of course. The bleach water can be used to deodorise drains afterwards.
Interesting. See I've only ever used Napisan or I've soaped the shit out of something first then thrown it in the bucket of Napisan. I've never needed to use White King.
I use it to clean inside the toilet bowl (Domestos). It’s how my mum taught me and never thought to change my approach. Works really well I think.
I just use double strength vinegar. Sometimes I get adventurous and use toilet duck which has bleach in it but it's rare.
I shouldn’t but sometimes do. For soaking pure white things like cotton sheets with stains that didn’t shift with something else, or I pour a little into the toilet to soak. Or for something nasty.
Usually I just use laundry detergent, napisan, surface spray or soapy water.
Oh. I can understand toilets. I know friends who chuck it in their toilet bowl before going away on holidays.
No. Never have either. Napisan is plenty good enough for most things.
I can understand how it got to be 'usual', pre modern washing powder/liquid. But nowadays it just isn't needed imo. Using a blue bag on sheets and shirts isn't needed nowadays either. I do have a bottle of White King in the laundry, but I've only ever used it once to splash a 10% solution onto a brick wall that the local tom cats were spraying on.
I was perusing r/CleaningTips and someone was asking about bleaching sheets and I'm thinking why. I can understand in a commercial sense but not a domestic one.
As a kid I used to walk outside in my white socks and mum would be "you'll be scrubbing those". And scrub I did and inspect she did. So I know soap works. I even do it when my kid gets new shoes and leaves that black shit on her socks and they come out spotless.
I was just genuinely curious why people use bleach because I thought I was missing something.
I tried the blue domestos once but it tasted horrible. Never tried the green one though.
Seriously though I do use the blue one on my toilet and sometimes sink. I like the way it smells. It smells like dizzy.
The green ones minty fresh.
The boys.
Ted ( his righteous dude fur is slowly growing back )
Bill ( a fluff monster dude )
Now I’m seeing them as a guy with a mullet and a guy with long metalhead curls
I used to have this book, Ted is a dead ringer. Gloop the Bunyip
I keep squishing and tripping on Melbcat today. She’s so quiet and gets so close 😢 When she hides under the blanket or creeps up behind me I don’t always see her
Poor kitty.
Maybe her new name should be pancake cat.
It’s my own fault for letting her beg in the kitchen. I’ve restored her round shape with another wet meal
I am addicted garlic toast at the minute, like badly addicted, I can feel my heart (and some of my other organs) crying out in dismay.
I had some cheesy garlic focaccia this afternoon and it was amaaazing. Focaccia was fashionable in the 90’s and seems to be making a comeback
My stomach is protesting about the whole head of broccoli I gave it at breakfast 😔
Oh so you're a little gassy? Just cock a leg and let rip.
give your stomach the body of broccoli too
Anyone going to be watching the Bathurst 1000 tomorrow?
Anyone know where to watch it online?
I haven't watched a supercars race for.. I don't even know how many years now. Last time I watched it, it was still Commodores vs Falcons.
It'll be on my TV but I can't say I'll sit and watch it.
Good start to the day - my Visa card reward for doing the milk study arrived and is now in Google Wallet waiting to be spent. I did have some issues getting it because the wallet was not installed in my phone, but I have now downloaded that (and paired my text messages with the tablet, as I initially didn't realise why the link didn't work and wanted to try opening it from there). Plus I still have the last $12 Coles voucher they sent during the study as I didn't need it for milk, for an extra bonus!
Getting proud dad vibes watching my daughter working out SkyBlock on Minecraft for the first time. Back in my day it was figuring out Rick Dangerous 2 on C64.
Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego here?
One uni assignment finished this morning, and I've sorted out my subject enrollment for next year. I was originally planning on doing a unit on Backyard Biodiversity, but after the gardening and house planning units I decided to swap in something completely different, and am doing "Living and Working with Cultural Diversity". I've also enrolled in another course after this, focusing on climate change - I was planning to do two subjects a semester, but the electives I want to do aren't available at the right time, so I have to do three subjects in first term next year.
If I'm still enthusiastic after that (and can get my financial ducks in a row) I plan to enroll in a double science (sustainability) and economics degree. Or maybe if there are still HECS waiver courses on offer I'll do another one of those - you can't get much better value than free!
I’ve slept all day and wrecked my sleeping pattern. This is not good. 🙁
Turns out we didn't win $60 Million last night. Ahh well, it probably would have introduced almost as many problems as it would have solved.
calling @[email protected] found this short on youtube foldaway workbench simple & elegant and useful.
Ai bah, built one of those ages ago. Building mobile units i can skates about the thames
This Beckham doco is really quite good just FYI..
I’ve heard good things about it, and that clip of him making Victoria fess up about her dad’s car is funny
Might give it a watch then…
TIL a T Rex is an archosaur.
I was wondering the other day...
You know how in dinosaur movies there's a zoom out and there's always heaps across the landscape...I wonder how dense the population actually was? Like was a T- Rex always starving because they hardly ever came across something to kill/eat, or was it a smorgasbord situation...?
10% rule. Predators form 5-10% of the population of their prey. For every 20 sauropods, there will be one or at most 2 T-Rexs. Most likely 1 adult and 1 juvenile. This ratio apparently holds good across the animal kingdom. Herbivores form 5-10% of the biomass of the fodder available at any given moment. If the biomass gives out, they migrate. As do their predators.
My understanding is that it was basically a giant lizard charcuterie board.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tyrannosaurus#Population_estimates
the number of individuals living in an area the size of California could be as high as 3,800 animals,
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Feeding_behaviour_of_Tyrannosaurus
They were scavengers eating very large dinosaur carcasses . I'm going assume they were like crocs which ate at long intervals.
