  • Different shapes taste different, it is Science

  • My view for the next few days:

  • I've been pescatarian for many years but something about Good Friday messaging just makes the contrarian and the atheist in me want a steak. I'm going with tofu, but I did think about it.

  • Role modelling normalises stuff. Like how seeing their parents read for leisure makes kids more likely to do the same.

  • I've had my car 18 months and I don't fill up that often, maybe once every three or four weeks. I have to check which side every single time. It's getting annoying.

  • I've thrown a veg/lentil curry in the slow cooker in the morning on low, gone to work, and come home 8 or 9 hours later and it's fine. Veg doesn't need that long but it doesn't seem to do much harm.

  • I did not know that the Geelong theme song had a second verse.

  • Ew. I like the pine pellets, they turn into sawdust when they get wet and absorb smells well. Bit noisy but that's ok.

  • Time for a cat. Is Butters available for a ratting consultation?

  • I used to work around there, but a few years ago. If a tram ride or longer walk is an option then Banff on Fitzroy St is great- cheap and cheerful pizza and pasta.

There are cafes immediately around the Alfred but I've got no idea what's there now.

  • "Not obviously bananapants" is a win for week one.

  • I went with picking up the biggest bits, then using a couple of containers from the recycling to scoop the worst of it. Then a few layers of paper towel and a gentle action on the worst bit, swept around the least jammy bits, and mopped. I'll go back and vaccuum presently.

    I don't recommend giving it a go.

  • May the whole DT find a really nice empty jam jar today. For this jar was unopened and full of quite nice strawberry jam.

I'll have to do a second round of cleaning later, just in case. I'm not convinced I've got it all.

  • A suicidal jam jar leapt out of the pantry to its doom on the tiles. Red sticky jammy glass everywhere. Great fun to clean up.

  • Apparently I had a deprived childhood. I have never made or worn an Easter bonnet or hat. I thought it was an odd new thing, but friends of the same vintage and similar geography tell me this had been happening for many decades, I've just somehow completely missed it. Huh.
