Raiffeisen Bank International saw its Russian operations cast into the spotlight again this Wednesday, as the bank’s Annual General Meeting was dominated by a series of protests inside and outside the assembly related to recent revelations about its dealings with state-affiliated entities in Russia.

Avaaz is backing the call to the UN human rights chief from a coalition of activists fighting for Tibetan rights led by:

That’s how many children China is forcing into boarding schools in Tibet, where they face abuse and are indoctrinated until they no longer speak the same language as their parents.

Many of these children often spend weeks or even months without seeing their parents, who say they’re simply not allowed to visit. Cut off from home, Tibetan children are only taught Mandarin and the love of the Chinese Communist Party, until their culture and religion is erased.

Now China is trying to cover it up while rooting out Tibetan culture for 1 million children. That’s where we come in.

Vor vielen Schulen in Schleswig-Holstein kommt es durch Elterntaxis allmorgendlich zu einem gefährlichen Verkehrschaos. Während das eigene Kind gut geschützt bis vor den Eingang der Schule gefahren wird, werden selbständig zu Fuß, mit dem Roller oder dem Fahrrad ankommende Kinder durch die unübersichtliche Straßensituation massiv gefährdet. Appelle der Schulleitungen und der Polizei, alle Kinder mögen den Schulweg zumindest auf den letzten paar Hundert Metern alleine meistern, verhallen. Es braucht Handlungsspielräume, um dem Problem endlich wirksam begegnen zu können und allen Kindern einen sicheren Schulweg zu ermöglichen.

Wir möchten, dass in Schleswig-Holstein unkompliziert Schulstraßen eingerichtet werden können, also Straßen im Nahbereich von Schulen für den Autoverkehr rund um Schulanfang und -ende gesperrt werden dürfen. Wir möchten damit erreichen, dass alle Kinder eigenständig, sicher und entspannt zur Schule gelangen können und die Anzahl der Elterntaxis dauerhaft sinkt.

One of the key reasons for the unprecedented polarization of society that we are currently observing lies in the fact that in an attempt to convey their point of view, one party disseminates its ideas to its target audience and tries to discredit its opponents through conspiracy theories and narratives. This is a very dirty tactic, as it affects people with problems with critical thinking and who are highly prone to fanaticism.

Something urgent needs to be done about this, otherwise it can very quickly lead to catastrophic consequences for society up to fascization, which will be extremely difficult to reverse.

I have prepared a petition calling for measures to counteract this threat. The petition concerns social networks, video hosting sites, and the media, and does not contain any calls for extreme measures

Trotzdem kassiert sie weiter ungestört Spenden via PayPal.[1] Über den Online-Bezahldienst können AfD-Fans einfach per Klick Geld an Höcke und Co. schicken. Das ist für die Partei wichtig, denn sie finanziert sich zu einem großen Teil mit privaten Spenden.[2] PayPal macht es der AfD richtig leicht, Geld für ihre antidemokratischen Machenschaften einzusammeln.

A union that’s organizing Waffle Houseworkers filed a petition with the Labor Department on Monday, asking federal officials to investigate the iconic chain’s policy of deducting mandatory meal costs from workers’ paychecks.

Waffle House takes at least $3 for each on-shift meal out of workers’ pay, whether they end up eating it or not, according to the petition from the Union of Southern Service Workers. The USSW called it “especially alarming” since many workers are paid a tipped sub-minimum wage “as low as $2.90 per hour,” not including gratuities.

For those not already aware, Michele Stokes a fan in the UK raised over $US 1200 through a GoFundMe to pay for a skywriter with a #SAVESTARTREKPRODIGY banner.

It flew midday today in LA. The ScreenRant article captures much of the social media including a few videos, and the reactions of the Hageman Brothers and @[email protected].

Michele Stokes is also the fan who started the change.org petition to Save Star Trek Prodigy. It’s been progressing slowly since it surpassed 30k signatures during SDCC, and is very close to 33k now.
