Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 - Announce Trailer - 4K

Wait, what? I distinctly recall that the 2020 version was supposed to be a 10 year game…

A bit weird since they said they'll be supporting the current iteration till 2030.

God damn was that a good trailer.

I put a 1000h into MSFS2020, surely I can reach a 1000h more on this one!

First one didn’t really appeal to me too much, but this update with “missions” and different things to do looks like I might have to grab it!

Not a fan of this decision. Considering they said in MSFS2020 that they planned to support the game for a decade, it seems very premature to release a new game like this, especially since it seems like very little has changed in the engine to warrant an upgrade to a new product.

I'm assuming this is going the Train Sim World route where everything gets brought forward into the next version, but there are exclusive features locked to 2024. Not a big deal if there will be a substantial discount for previous owners, but I think we all know what Asobo is going to decide.

I'm pretty upset that this isn't just an update, but a new game. with all the DLC and mods in the old one and this game taking up over 500GB of storage. installing both is gonna be a real pain.

I know it is unrelated, but when I saw that ship in the scene with the oil rig, I suddenly wanted a new ship simulation game.

This does look fun, I would like to try fighting fires.

I only played the first during my trial of gamepass. I enjoyed it, but it hasn't gotten a sale that made me jump on it.

I love that they actually focused on things to do rather than just flying around realistically. Missions like firefighting, search and rescue, construction and more adds much needed gamification to flight sim!

Ok I know there are doing this for money but what's going to be the point of this new game? 2020 really set the bar high for flight simulators. If this game looks the same with more modes but hasn't improved the backend so it's better for 3rd party modders it's just not going to feel like a new game.

I still have mixed feelings but I'm glad to see some of the answered questions about add-ons.

My laptop will not run this but this looks really good.
