0AD. Similar to Age of Empires
Maybe check the hash is correct. I've downloaded Mint from their various official mirror sites and have gotten one that had an incorrect hash, which caused issues.
Thanks for sharing
That sounds familiar
Was waiting for a GoG release!
Disregard my OM suggestion. I just became aware of recent drama within It's community and there looks to be a fork coming soon.

IVPN, Mullvad, or Proton. Criminals aren't necessarily smart, I remember a ghost phone that criminals thought were secure and it was a honeypot. Shoulda used Graphene for free.
If you try Organic Maps yourself, try using Sherpa Onnx TTS with it. It's a great open source match and really makes the experience of navigation top tier
Not listing Organic Maps is a travesty. Possibly mention Immich, though I see you're going more for SaaS and not really self hosted
Then say you don't use any, however I have a feeling you'd be denied for lying even if it's the truth
Morrowind modded in OpenMW is actually quite fun to play, the main thing I'd really appreciate in a remake would be getting rid of the D20 system for a more modern hit mechanic. Striking time and time again an enemy only to never do damage is so frustrating.
Oh it's finally releasing as a finished game?!
Why would this be a bad thing? I assume that's the connotation for posting it here
I recently listened to the Dev discussing his keyboard. They mentioned better support for multiple languages so maybe it'll work how you want it to now.
Maybe try another app such as FUTO keyboard? I don't have experience with Gboard fyi
I use Mint because I use lots of small project software that tends to only have packages for Debian/Ubuntu. Mint also works very well with an NVIDIA card. I've tried other distros but they fail to work well with nvidia.
When I get a new AMD laptop I want to try Vanilla OS as apparently it can use any package format but is also immutable which I like. I just hope they have the KDE Plasma edition out by then because I really don't enjoy Gnome
It's only as safe as Apple, which is to say you can't trust them. If you have AI enabled it'll be scanning everything (to include signal) to learn your habits and assist you "better".

Here is Firewalls Don't Stop Dragons latest podcast. He is interviewing a cyber security expert and at the time stamp I gave he talks about the malware briefly. I've also read about this in the past as well but can't supply evidence.

I noticed this app on F-Droid but have no experience with it. Maybe it'll suit your needs

Discord Program (Vesktop)
I don't use Discord much anymore and haven't used this program but this looks like a nice 3rd party Discord flatpak. It supports screensharing on Wayland. Just thought I'd share with the community

Signal on F-droid Guardian Repo
I just noticed today that Signal (not talking Molly) is now available on F-Droid via the "Guardian" repository.
Just wanted to give everyone a heads up.

Looking for a Modern Retro Case
I'm wondering if anyone knows of a modern designed case (preferably SFF) that has retro asthetics. Examples would be the SilverStone FLP01 and Ayaneo's Retro Mini PCs.

Reviewers without Conflict of Interest?
Are there any reviewers on YouTube/Rumble/etc. or independent blogs that don't post affiliate links, aren't sponsored by the printer company, or had one sent out by the company? Those to me all seem like a conflict of interest.
Yes people need to make money, I'm not blind to that, but they can advertise other things that aren't a direct conflict of interest.
I'm looking to get my first printer and would like to get info from an unbiased source. I just don't know enough to weed through the million 3D printer channels.
The Sovol SV06 Ace seems nice with little research as it is large enough to print the project I have in mind and uses open source firmware (Klipper) which is a must for me.

Axle Pattern Name?

I'm just getting back into Legos and recieved the 10317 Defender kit for the holidays. I would rather it have white wheels (I don't mind painting) and found that there was a past model wheel that came in white. The only difference is the axle style. Instead of the cross pattern it looks more like a half cross. What is this pattern called? Is it compatible with the cross pattern? It looks like it could be.

Umbrella
Anyone else getting Umbrella "No stream available" errors?
I had watched stuff, shutdown, next day tried watching the same thing again as well as other shows/movies and got the error. No changes to the program or service. Now the majority of shows and movies give the error

Help with Game Saves vs States
I have the Miyoo Mini+. I originally used MinUI and it saved games like a normal GBA and loaded the game to the menu everytime I started it, again like a standard GBA worked. I switched to OnionOS to have a nicer interface with boxart and now it only uses save states and auto starts from said state when opening a game. Not an authentic experience.
I have learned there's a difference between game saves and save states but don't know how to switch my handheld to use only game saves. Is it based on the core used maybe? Can anyone help me out?

Next Step of the Social Credit System
Riot Games strengthened its rules to combat and punish players who exhibit offensive behavior in streams and game sessions.
If someone reports you for doing anything against their ToS on other websites then it will hold consequences.
This is another reason why privacy matters. Have different user names on different platforms so you can't be linked. I don't condone treating other people poorly however this leads to more control, especially with how crazy ToS/EULAs are and how they are ever changing.

Great Comic Based Games
I'm seeing family over the holidays and they really enjoy comic book stuff and video games. I don't know much about comics and am looking for suggestions on classic comic book based games I can load on my RPi and bring over to play. All I'm aware of are some of the Marvel vs Capcom fighting games but maybe there are others. Any ideas?

Fen Light Shutdown

Install Fen Light on Kodi with our step-by-step guide with screenshots. Setup CocoScrapers and Real Debrid with Fen Light Kodi addon.

Looks like Fen Light shutdown sadly. I was noticing issues with trying to stream content. Ended up switching to Umbrella as that's a consistant addon I've seen and so far so good.

GrapheneOS App Isolation Question
I'm trying to better understand how app-to-app communication works within the owner profile alone. I read that apps need mutual consent if they wish to talk with one another, otherwise all apps are isolated from one another.
If that's true, how do I see and verify what consent has been given to an app?
There's obviously "Permissions" but to my knowledge that only gives an app access to sms, photos, etc., not letting one app talk to another. Storage scope is another thing I'm aware of which I can utilize.
I ask this because I need to install a standard predatory work app that has various accesses including location. I tried installing it in another profile and was going to spoof my location but developer options mock location doesn't carry over to the other profiles. So I need to install the app on my owner profile but want to be certain it won't be trying to harvest data from other apps or the system.

Favorite ROM Hacks?
What are peoples favorite ROM Hacks? I personally like vanilla+ experiences but just want to hear what other people appreciate and why.
I'm thinking of Smash Remix for Super Smash Bros. It adds tons of content but keeps the game feeling original.
Also thinking of Maternalbound Redux, an improvement for the USA version of Earthbound
Pacman Championship Edition demake for NES

ArkOS How to Hide Regions? ( )
Does anyone know how to hide the game regions, revisions, disc numbers, etc. through the menu settings? I cannot find a setting for it and prefer not to rename all my ROMs and box art.
Edit: I still don't know if there is a way within the menu to accomplish this like can be done in standard RetroArch.
However, here is how I accomplished it. I already had my box art so I don't know if that has to be gotten first. Put the microSD card in your computer, go to the folder that holds the ROMS for each particular system you have games in, open the .XML file in a text editor, edit the name of each game in the
</name>
category to what you want it to say, save the file and that's it. Your box art will not need editing
Help Curating Game List for Gift
Hey everyone, I'm looking for critiques on my games list here. I've been casually enjoying retro gaming for the past year and my friend wants his kids to play some. He has two boys a few years apart but no older than 8 I think. I'm planning to surprise him with a POWkiddy RGB10X pre-configured with some games I think young kids would enjoy. This is where I need some help finalizing the list. I'm at a little over 30 games which I think is maybe too many but I want them to have a wide variety of genres and franchises to enjoy. What might you change or suggest?
- Donkey Kong (NES or GBA)
- Ridge Racer Type 4 (PS1)
- Diddy Kong Racing (N64)
- Super Mario 64 (N64)
- Super Mario Bros. 3 (SNES)
- Metal Gear Solid (PS1)
- Pokémon Emerald (GBA)
- Pokémon Crystal (GBC)
- Pokémom Leaf Green (GBA)
- Pokémon Pinball (GBA)
- Super Smash Bros. (N64)
- Metal Slug X (PS1)
- Contra: Hard Corps (Genesis)
- Super Metroid (

Retro Handheld Custom OS Saving (ArkOS)
With MinUI I save the game how the game intends me to, then turn off my device, play another time and the game starts from the opening sequences, I select my save and start playing. Just like how an old GBA would work.
With OnionOS, I can save anytime and after starting a new session it picks up like if I had paused the game and then just started playing again. I have to use the RetroArch menu to make the game boot through the opening sequences and then the proper game saving won't resume as intended.
I always thought this was strange of OnionOS and it seems like other custom OS do the same thing. It takes away from the classic way an old game is played when I can save anytime and it removes the nostalgia of booting up a GBA or whatever everytime I want to play.
Anyways, does anyone know how ArkOS handles saves? I'd like to purchase a device that supports it, but only if it can behave like MinUI.

Organic Maps Repo Question
Normally when looking at an app on F-Droid you'll see the multiple repos available to download it from all on the app's page. Whether it's Izzy, F-Droid, etc. Why does Organic Maps have two seperate app pages on F-Droid? One only lists the F-Droid repo download and the other just for Izzy.

Privacy.com Updates
They're making changes to where if you have your transactions set to private it will only say "PWP*Privacy.com" on your bank statements. Say goodbye to "NSA Giftshop". Sad day

Kubuntu vs Neon?
What's everyones opinion of the two? I enjoy KDE Plasma and want to use an Ubuntu based system but don't have any experience with these two distros.

Arcade Emulation Help, OnionOS
I just changed from MinUI to OnionOS on my Miyoo Mini+ to try more forms of emulation such as Arcade. I specifically want to play Bosconian. I got it running via the core "MAME 2003-Plus" using two different ROMsets, "bosco" and "boscomd" from the Archive.org "MAME 2003-Plus Reference Full Non-Merged ROMsets" page.
However, I'm having the same issue with both being "Warning: audo sample(s) not found".
Did I happen to pick two bad ROMsets or is there some larger issue I'm having? Is this a common issue that people know how to fix?
