I was wondering why earwax is among the smelliest of bodily secretions and was going to ask here but figured I'd check what the internet at large has to say. Most of the top results are about possible health conditions. There was one answer on quora saying that it smells pretty bad at the best of times, but it didn't have a lot of upvotes. I am doubting the health condition hypothesis because of how long it's smelled bad, i.e., my whole life. So I'm wondering if earwax only smells bad to a small portion of the population like the cilantro/soap thing or if only a small portion of the population has smelly earwax and theirs/ours smells bad to everyone like bad breath.
