  • Anyone know his thoughts on the afterlife?

  • Owl?

  • One day of dry February down, 27 more to go. Very close to employment, which should help with the boredom but will reintroduce some stress.

  • VP of the pig union. It would take a

    to stop him.

  • Was that wrong?

  • Yes please and thank you.

  • I've said it before and I suspect I may have to say it again: we're back to panel 3.

  • CW alcoholism

The week was OK but I could really be healthier and kinder to my comrades. I'm aiming for dry February. I'm also looking at two short-term living options, neither recovery-focused, just an aparthotel or a little house. The aparthotel is in a super-walkable part of the city. That includes many many bars but also tons of other stuff. The little house is walkable by usian standards but all of the stuff is on two intersecting street. I would be properly within a quadrant and not on either of the streets.

If I'm in the little house, I'd have quiet. I could just go to the grocery store occasionally and stay home preparing my meals, reading, getting used to linux and maybe delving into programming again. Or I could ignore those possibilities, tell myself that I'm bored and bring home booze from that same grocery store and be blotto by noon every day.

If I'm in the aparthotel, I could explore the city more freely and hopefully find stuff to keep me occupied when I'm not doing my inside tasks. Then again, there will be bars on the way to and from everything and I could find myself regularly doing one-man pubcrawls.

Failure and success both seem like real possibilities at both places, so I guess I'm asking for better questions to ask myself before making the decision. Thanks in advance.

  • It's nonsense, but it reads like genuine hand-made nonsense. Consider the style of:

Speaker context → encode as texture → transmit → decode in listener context
        C_1, P_1 → texture → → → C_2, P_2 → shapes

LLMs like speaking in sentences or bulleted lists. Yes, I'm sure you could prompt it to speak in the style of notes to generate something like the first line, but how much would you have to torture one before it starts outputting something like the second? The only way to get something that sounds this much like a nonsense paper is to ask it to write in nonsense-paper style, which a nonsense author wouldn't do because they don't know that what they're doing is nonsensical.

  • OK, so you're asking, from the perspective of a lib who thinks Rs and Ds are actually opposed, why one hasn't seized power previously. Hm. I think they'd say that all previous presidents really did love american norms and institutions in their own way and trump is a unique bad guy, first ruzzian president, etc.

  • You give a good argument of why a strategic, non-unhinged (hinged?) president wouldn't cancel elections and then ask why the previous ones didn't. It's like you "but why male models"ed yourself. Or am I misunderstanding something?

  • The "house" part makes it weird in the US, at least, where the highest unhoused populations are also in places where the majority of dwellings are apartments and not house-houses. If you break "houseless" down to its component parts, I've been houseless virtually my whole adult life despite an unbroken streak of leases.

"Unhoused" is less "house"-dependent because there's no separate verb form; you're housed in your apartment because what else could fill in that blank, and that's the one that's in much more common use in coastal cities in my experience.

  • Why toilet?

  • Eating burnt red meat while smoking reds with the filters ripped out to stick it to Beijing.
