great, we need more bands removing their stuff from spotify and other streaming services

Thanks. I understand that not everyone is sharing my views on the issue, but I believe that FOSS don't belong to specific persons, even if they started the project. There are 260 contributors to lemmy, and I'm one of them (small contributions though yet, but anyway), and I'm enby and unconditionally support trans rights. I love Lemmy, and despite the views of one of the original devs, it helps trans people and LGBTQ+ people to express themselves on free independent platforms

I was very invested in cryptid story in my playthrough and had good odds in that check. The conversation with phasmid literally made me cry. Along with Dolores Dei dialogue and the dialogue with Revachol after completing the night club quest, this is what absolutely made my playthrough. I can imagine how phasmid interaction without it would seem weird though...

i need to listen to her more

sad :(

they still have audacity to connect Sodom and Gomorrah with homosexuality

and of course the original quotes are not related to homosexuality at all: https://www.reddit.com/r/OpenChristian/s/79askQI5Xn
basically it condemns rape. but mainstream conservative "christians" in power could not let such translations to spread

is this loss?..

Björk album covers. Day 5: Biophilia

What is Biophilia? The literal translation from Greek is "love to nature", and I always thought there's nothing else behind this word. Until I googled for the term (I use Ecosia actually) and it showed me the definition:
The biophilia hypothesis suggests that humans possess an innate tendency to seek connections with nature and other forms of life. Edward O. Wilson introduced and popularized the hypothesis in his book, Biophilia (1984)
I have no doubt that Björk absolutely adheres to this hypothesis, considering how much love she expresses towards nature, and how nature-centered her latest ablums are. And her 7th LP is no exception. She usually focuses on a certain element, certain aspect of nature and searches the connections between it and our everyday feelings and emotions. Here she explores the theme of space: how birth of stars and planets is similar to the birth of feelings between human beings. And how love can be as hard as moving tectonic plates, and as hot as magma.
A

enjoyable record

I think more about the idea and influence. It was the first souls game to become a mainstream in some sort, and an all-time classic. I personally consider DS3 a better game, but it took the old formula and perfected it (mostly). For the same reason, i'd pick GTA Vice City over GTA V, but I'm not a big fan of the franchise tbh

2021 was a year of the extreme FromSoft hype. Sekiro recently won GOTY, the whole community was excited for the upcoming Elden Ring. So it's understandable that a soulslike won the trophy, even though most of the games from the list deserve it. If they repeat this nomination in 5-10-15 years, it might be a different game from exact this list—depending on what genre will be trending

if only...

many devs forget that souls-likes are about exploring as much as about bossfights

Sounds like a wonderful time! I played it couple years ago, and then convinced my wife to try, and she enjoyed it a lot as well. Have fun and be careful not to spoil anything—approaching the game blindly is a special kind of fun

Doesn't he succeed btw?

Is it your first playthrough?

please elaborate

My highest achievement in Expedition 33 (yet)

I guess I love suffering and play games only because it's not enough in real life (that's why my favourite genres are souls-likes and fightings, but that's another story). I'm currently playing Expedition 33, and this game marks some areas as "dangerous", implying that the player is underleveled to defy local bosses and mobs. But hey, it sounds like a challenge! The moveset of the first boss I've met was very small—only 3 moves. But that was not the issue here: I dealt very little damage, whereas they simply one-shot me. After two days I finally made it: 37 minutes of patience, and 265 successful parries in my winning attempt. I'm very proud of myself :) It was not the longest time I've spent on a boss, but by far the longest attempt

Björk album covers day 4: Vulnicura

Who else is mesmerized by these outlandish legs? I still cannot tell if they are real or the artist just stretched them—they are uncannily straight, and where are the knees? But it's Björk, the well-known shapeshifting queen, and everything is possible.
She appears before us in a naughty latex suit, yet she clearly not in a playful mood. Her face expresses deepest sorrow, and there's a gaping hole in her chest. Is it a vaginal symbol, or an open wound? Is she covered with dandelion fluff, or pierced by a myriad of arrows like St. Sebastian? Every detail in the picture holds multiple meanings—and Björk herself does too: she's a lover, she's a martyr.
I genuinely like this cover (especially that fresh palette of colors, ahh) but perhaps I like others slightly more. Maybe it's the darkness radiating from Björk here that alienates me?..
7/10, 7th place.

Wait, you couldn't see my memes on web version all that time?..

I've been posting through mobile (Boost client) and always chosen only URL as a content of my post. And it resulted to a post with an empty thumbnail on web (you have to click on it to see the image). Does anyone use this client? What's the best in your opinion?

ATTENTION!

Attention 196ers. Let's all stop and listen to the song Shakira — Hips Don't Lie (feat. Wyclef Jean). Tomorrow I'll check this song number of plays and tell you how many of us are here
