I like American music. Do you like American music? I like American music, too.
Other versions of me:
Do you want conservative, right-wing, MAGA, or mainline Republican? Shit is crazy fragmented right now. The GOP has shown it has no place for conservatives, only reactionaries or bootlickers. Even hard-line religious rightwingers are feeling the shove right now. I was never a Republican but I used to be able to vote for them occasionally. Nowadays the only party putting forth conservative candidates are the Democrats.
So, uh, I guess you could talk about that.
total control of the populace
I don't know any other way to live.
I prefer actual recommendations from real people. That's how I've found most of my favorite books and videogames.
Music is a little different. I do occasionally hop on Pandora to let their algo recommend new things. I also listen to indie radio and pull from there. But I still rely on stealing songs I hear friends play, if not specific recommendations.
40% or more of my daily calorie intake within an hour of waking up in the morning.
I also had more than half marked off but did not get a bingo.
The three big differences are these:
- It doesn't shuffle a playlist, it adds to a queue by pulling from a playlist at random. This means that if the playlist changes, eg. because it's a smart playlist, you get the new songs added to the queue later.
- You can change the playlist it pulls from without interrupting playback or resetting the queue.
- It keeps track of which songs were just played as well as what is about to be played.
It has other great features that are present in some or most other apps. But the third thing I've only seen in one other app, the first two in none.
Not sure why you linked the lemy.lol archive of the post when the original is on !philosophy@hexbear.net
iTunes was better before they got rid of Party Shuffle. It's such a good feature and I continue to be frustrated than no other music player offers something similar.

Should math be less abstract?
But that's already how math is taught. Examples, word problems, discussion of applications. It helps students grasp the concepts to know their purpose and use.
contra dancing
Not at all. Mondays are when I go dancing.
Because it was taught wrong to most adults when they were children. Pedagogy has changed, though, and gen alpha are actually becoming numerate instead of being told to just memorize things like my generation was. Maybe the zoomers got lucky with that, too.
But seriously, as a mathematician and a teacher, you're not bad at math because of something inherent to you. You're bad at math because you weren't taught numeracy.
PC is what people call basic politeness when they don't wanna do it.
Respecting basic human dignity for outgroups is a core part of being woke, for sure.

- Make breakfast for kids
- Go to work
- Not sure what it says, but I just got a text from my wife so there's at least one more thing I gotta do
- Ensure kids all have clean uniforms for school tomorrow
By accident? Probably fine as long as it's not a pattern.
On purpose? No, that's shitty.
You can use any piece of cardstock. I used to cut rectangles out of cereal boxes and use those.
I think it does have to be cardstock or similar weight, though; cheese might not meet the requirements.
1986 saw the release of both the Henson / Bowie film Labyrinth and the Ravensberger board game Labyrinth. What was going on in the zeitgeist that created these two seemingly unrelated classics?
Neither seems to be inspired by the other, but share a lot of imagery and mechanics. Do they both owe a common precursor? Or is it the collective unconscious at work?
What are the different connotations of the Russian word "stilyagi" vs. the American English word "hipster"?

DAE bothered that "milestone" and "minestrone" don't rhyme?

Can I disable swipe right to go back? It's an appkiller.
I don't see it in the options, but I keep accidentally exiting threads I'm trying to scroll through, and it's such a problem I may have to stop using this otherwise very good app if I can't disable it.
