  • It was good - hope to see you on Nostr.

If not, we will meet somewhere down the line again, I am sure.

  • The potential for future growth being very limited, and people spending hundreds of dollars a year on the server (a price that will only go up) plus all the effort in posting content...

I see the reason to not continue here.

  • lol

btw, Casey, where do you recommend EH users go after this shuts down in less than a week?

  • I really appreciate that you care to come over and tell us your position, and this is key for me:

This isn’t really an issue as far as content and engagement is concerned thanks to federation, but it does mean we’re a very small fish that can be easily killed if we get defederated. We’re not big enough to survive under our own content steam, so if you do join, please try to keep this in mind.

Basically, you may be forced to moderate, and to ban really confrontational, in your face sort of posts that are derogatory to avoid defed... Which is fair.

I think I may come over to your instance and participate in some stuff, all in godo faith, all with no slurs or name-calling, as that is against my religion. '

I'll probably get a totally diff useranme, though. Be unrecognizable. I actually did this when coming over to EH (some wolfballers will remmeber my original name; like 1-2 people may remember my Discussions name... I don't fully remember my discussions name, lol.)

  • These guys just discuss hack stuff it seems..?

  • Do you have any plans for yourself?

  • Permanently Deleted

  • A great sign for the gang - just today my Gab here got a repost from Andrew Torba himself (who follows me, which is just wonderful).

I think we should play around with Nostr with the gang but... this is an auspicious start, my friends.

    Yes, of course.

Speaking to ABC News on the condition of anonymity, the soldier said offensive operations which he had been part of were disorganized, criticizing some tactical decisions.

"We lost three Leopards (advanced German-made tanks) in one day because they were just told to drive forward into a minefield," he said.

America First Legal, a nonprofit group headed by former Trump policy adviser Stephen Miller, has filed a lawsuit against Washington Gov. Jay Inslee to stop the enforcement of a state law that allows minors to get sex-reassignment surgeries without their parent’s permission.

The conservative group says the Senate Bill 5599, signed by Gov. Inslee in May, "creates a dangerous incentive for minors who disagree with their parents on ‘gender-affirming care’ to run away to a shelter or host home."

SB 5599 allows host homes "to house youth without parental permission." Furthermore, the host homes do not need to notify parents about where their kids are or if they are getting medical interventions "if there is a compelling reason not to, which includes a youth seeking protected health services."

The "protected health care services" included "gender-affirming care," which for minors arbitrarily included anything prescribed by doctors to treat dysphoria, the bill said.

  • There is a point here because I am aware that famous internet personalities like Mustang Wanted have actually joined to fight in the Ukraine on behalf of Russia while also are opponents of Putin...

But it is the case here, IMO, where Navalny is supposed to more broadly support the Westernization of Russia and its membership in duh internashnul comunity or whatever, so I would suspect that Navalny is more astroturfed local opposition than is talked about.

    But IDK.

The deficit of qualified workers in Germany is getting worse, according to the latest Business Survey conducted by the Munich-based Ifo Institute among nearly 9,000 German corporations.

The results of the poll, released on Wednesday, show that over 43% of respondents reported a deficit of skilled employees in July, up from just over 42% recorded in April. An all-time high of nearly 50% was reached in July 2022.

“Despite a sluggish economy, many companies are still desperately searching for suitable employees,” says Ifo expert Stefan Sauer.

According to the survey, the service sector has been hit particularly hard with more than 75% of legal and accounting firms not finding the applicants they need, while nearly two-thirds of companies in transportation, architecture, and engineering report a shortage of qualified workers, marking a new high for those sectors.

India mulling wheat imports from Russia

India is in talks with Russia on wheat imports at a discounted price as it seeks to tame inflation amid rising global prices, Reuters reported on Thursday, citing sources familiar with the matter.

New Delhi is looking to boost supplies from Russia in a bid to drive down domestic wheat prices, which fueled inflation to a 15-month high in July, the outlet wrote. Indian wholesale wheat prices soared by around 10% over two months to a seven-month high in August on limited supplies.

“The government is exploring the possibility of imports through private trade and government-to-government deals. The decision will be made cautiously,” Reuters said, citing one of the sources.

Although India only needs 3 to 4 million metric tons of wheat to cover the shortage, New Delhi might consider importing 8 to 9 million tons of wheat from Russia in order to intervene in the market more effectively and bring the prices down, another source told the outlet.

“India can easily secure a discount of $2

Ukrainian MP raises ‘loss of statehood’ fears; Discusses Full Mobilization

Ukraine may be forced to announce a maximum scale mobilization if there is ever a real threat to the country’s statehood, according to Verkhovna Rada MP and deputy chairman of the country’s national security committee Egor Chernev.

Speaking to Novosti.LIVE, the official explained that the country was currently in the second phase of mobilization out of four, but this number could be extended based on how long the conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues and the resources are required.

“The fourth assumes that all men go to war,” Chernev said. “If the country is in danger and there is a real threat of losing statehood, then everyone will go,” he added, noting that he believes that “it is the duty of every man to defend his own country.”

According to Ukrainian laws on mobilization, a fourth stage means that all able-bodied residents of the country between the ages of 18 and 60 will be called up for service.

The politician noted, however, that there were no plans to increase th

Kolkata: A dozen students gathered outside the locked administration building at Jadavpur University with posters in Bangla demanding ‘Justice’ and a ‘ragging-free’ campus. None of them really knew the 17-year-old. They never got the chance. He was found outside the main boys’ hostel on the evening of 9 August, on what would have been his second day as a first-year student at one of the country’s top institutions.

Jadavpur University’s sprawling campus has become a cradle of unrest, unease, and uncertainty with allegations of ragging and hazing, rumours of suicide, unconfirmed reports of the student’s body covered in welts and cigarette burns, and a series of protests and some arrests. One of the last remaining bastions of Left ideology in the country, Jadavpur University has witnessed several anti-establishment movements and student uprisings—starting from its fight against the mishandling of a sexual harassment case in 2014, which led to the police lathi-charge on students, to hunge

Jeffrey Ferguson, the Orange County judge who allegedly texted a confession to court staffers after killing his wife in front of their son, made a mumbling drunken confession to responding Anaheim police officers captured on bodycam video and asked them to shoot him, according to court filings.

The son who allegedly witnessed the shooting told investigators his parents had been fighting for most of the evening and that his father was drinking heavily.

"The shooting stemmed from an argument that began earlier that same evening," prosecutors wrote in a bail motion. "While arguing at dinner (at a restaurant nearby their residence), Defendant pointed his finger at his wife…in a manner mimicking a firearm."

The arguing continued at home, and Sheryl Ferguson told her husband, "Why don't you point a real gun at me?" prosecutors alleged.

That's when Ferguson is accused of pulling a .40-caliber Glock pistol out of an ankle holster and firing a single shot through his wife's chest.

  • Lol these guys take the bait more easily than fish with brains the size of cashews.

  • Anytime this kind of shit happens, it has to be squashed.

Total anonymity for juries must be the norm and I hope the people responsible for this are punished... Doubly punished if it isn't a hoax list.

  • Honestly I think the reason is appealing to the increasingly powerful foreign film markets. That's the big driver.

Plus there's all these Asian American actors who think they're creating the Asian American cultural narrative now, and studios are willing to give them small budgets to have Awkwafina and her gang tell some melancholic and pseuodoprofound story.

... Ok some of it is good but I also feel like it is way too ethnocentric.

  • My most controversial take is that the animal rights movement is basically Ninety percent right. I eat as vegetarian as possible but I allow myself meat on like half the days but I try to minimize it.

I also have this other view... That mass production has actually ended up breaking the world economy. Certain countries are damned to be just resource harvesters and others get to reap all the benefits. Neocolonialism is a real phenomenon...and it's bad.

So I actually have two views that alienate me from a lot of conservatives here....

But my views that alienate me from liberals.... They're more obvious. But not controversial in the context of history. Like telling the audience of humanity past, present, and future that it's bad to cut your dick off or for men to take dicks in the ass or women to marry other women is about as controversial as announcing that "pissing in a glass and drinking it isn't good." yes, some Indians will disagree, but life be like that.
