  • The Hackernews thread on this discusses how this has been known for years and hasn’t been fixed by Google

  • Managing communities is currently all on the communities page (or on the right bar in desktop). This should be easier though in the upcoming Quiblr version

  • Cool cool. Iβ€˜ve been testing the comment and delete functionality in a new client

  • Test3

  • And another

  • Another test!!!

  • I made Quiblr. Glad you're enjoying it! Let me know if anyone has questions

  • Thanks for the shout out!

  • I’m surprised it has taken them so long to switch to Wordpress given that they are owned by the same company

  • I created Quiblr which acts as a client for all Lemmy servers. I've tried to remove some of the friction that comes with the Fediverse (including the sign up).

Check it out and let me know what you think. It sounds like you're exactly the kind of user I built Quiblr for (i.e. folks who are familiar with big tech social media and are not familiar with the fediverse)

  • In my days, you got a week's worth of calories for $3.50

  • I made Quiblr. Thanks for the shout out!

As you noted, Quiblr's For You feed gives an entirely customized recommendation feed + it is 100% private and runs on the device (not via a data center... so no data ever leaves the device)

  • Ahh I see. If that happens in the future, you can also click the 3 dots on the post and press "Show Less". It will add more weight so it rise up in the For You feed

Quiblr now has Live Chat messages (beta)

    Hi all,

In Quiblr, you can now convert your Lemmy messages into live chats using adaptive polling!

This strategy works by initially checking for new messages in short intervals. If no new messages are detected, the polling interval increases (to be resource efficient for Instances). No more needing to keep refreshing your messages page!

It is still in beta and it can be switched on/off in the settings

Check it out and let me know what you think

Quiblr now includes tooltips to highlight feature details

    Hi all,

I've added a tooltip view on the Settings page in Quiblr that helps explain how certain features work (e.g. Remove Duplicates)

Additional detail into Quiblr's features can be found on the GitHub page

Big thanks to @[email protected] for this feature idea.

Let me know what y'all think!

Quiblr and 6 other Lemmy clients have perfect markdown

    Cross posted from here

I'm a bit late on this follow up but shoutout to gedaliyah for all the work and the feedback/support!

    Quiblr App Update: Markdown updated

Thanks to some great feedback from gedaliyah in this post, I updated all the markdown gaps in Quiblr.

Many thanks for your work making the Lemmy ecosystem better!

If any users spot any other gaps, please let me know. Thanks!

Quiblr: Updates to the For You feed, navigation, and some new features!

    Hi all,

Sharing a few updates for Quiblr. See below:

    • For You feed: A few more signals have been added to Quiblr's recommendation feed. As always, it is (and always will be) 100% private and it still runs entirely on your device. I'm hoping to do a more technical write-up on this at some point in the future. Let me know if that'd be something that interests you!
    • Navigation: I did a complete rework of Quiblr's page navigation. Before, I was leaning on PWA elements for speed and I hadn't invested enough time on optimizing the URL navigation. Clicking around, refreshing, going back, etc. should be a lot more seamless now!
    • Other features: Some other additions include a "Forgot Password" button on the login screen, using the device settings for dark/light theming, viewing image posts in fullscreen, and adding options in settings to show/hide scroll bars & flip the voting arrow order

Hope ya'll love the updates and please keep the [feedback](https:

I built the first 100% private, on-device "For You" feed on the fediverse

    cross-posted from: https://lemmy.world/post/16102424

    Hi all,

Quiblr now has personalized post feeds for Lemmy!

I haven't seen a "recommended feed" feature anywhere else in the fediverse but I thought I would take a crack at building it!

My goal was to make a privacy-focused recommendation engine that tailors your experience based on the content you interact with. None of the data leaves your device. You don't even need to log in for it to work

    • You can turn it off or tune your feed in the settings
    • Each post now also includes a show me more/less button

I would LOVE feedback from folks if you get a chance to try it out!

This was really fun to build so let me know if there are any questions!

PS: Let me know if someone else has built this feature for the fediverse - then I will change the title to not claim "the first" lol

The Quiblr web app improved it's onboarding

Creating an account on Lemmy is not always frictionless. Taking inspiration from the Voyager onboarding, I've updated the onboarding process on Quiblr to be as painless as possible!

The latest update also includes various bug fixes.

Let me know what you think!
