I (middle-aged, white, cishet, more or less wealthy male) know that I'm super priviledged - yet reading posts like that show me that I will never be able to fully feel what you girls/women have to live through. I promise that I will fight against misogyny whereever I can.

  • I do use QoS on my router, but that's not what I want: I want it explicitly on OS level. If that doesn't prioritize in the first place, it's one hop lost with bad/missing prioritization. In my example, my bad ping was actually with enabled router-prioritization. It's not enough.

  • Found the reason: You need to install mumble via rpm, not via Flatpak.

    Now TTS works, but at a fantastically bad robotic voice. Need to figure out how to add other voices/better quality next.

    1. Es gibt Untersuchungen, die besagen, dass Autofahrer Radfahrer enger und riskanter überholen, wenn sie Helme tragen. Daher dürfte es zu mehr Unfällen kommen.
    2. Es gibt Untersuchungen, die besagen, dass Radfahrer mit Helm riskanter fahren. Auch dadurch dürfte es zu mehr Unfällen kommen.
    3. Es ist erwiesen, dass Radfahren gesellschaftlich/für das Gesundheitssystem (trotz der aktuellen Unfallzahlen etc.) eine positive Bilanz mit sich bringt: Die positiven gesundheitlichen Aspekte überkompensieren die Unfallverletzungen. Ich gehe davon aus, dass eine Helmpflicht zu weniger Radfahren führen wird: 3.a) weil die Leute keinen Bock auf Helme haben, 3.b) weil es zu umständlich ist (wo lagern, wie transportieren,...), 3.c) weil es das Bild schafft, dass radfahren gefährlich sei, und damit Leute abschreckt (oder auch Eltern es ihren Kindern verbieten). Damit wird der positive Effekt des Radfahrens zurückgedrängt, die Leute fahren wieder mehr Auto/Bahn, bewegen sich weniger, verpesten mehr die Luft,... Ein Bärendienst für die Gesellschaft.

  • Oh, ich trage einen Helm beim Radeln. Gleichzeitig bin ich überzeugt, dass eine Helmpflicht gesamtgesellschaftlich negative Folgen hätte.

  • Na klaro. Mit der Verve, mit der Du hier als allererstes Helmpflichten forderst, kämpfst Du sicher auch für striktere Regeln, härtere Strafen und bessere Infrastruktur im Verkehr. ;-)

    Ich denke, an der Stelle bin ich mal raus. Überzeugter, dass Helmpflichten uns gesamtgesellschaftlich etwas bringen, bin ich nicht.
