Self-Hosting Update: Migration to GitHub Container Registry

Hi everyone,

Due to recent Docker container limitations, we have migrated our images from Docker Hub to GitHub Container Registry.

If you are deploying using methods that do not utilize the bitwarden(.)sh or bitwarden(.)ps1 scripts, please take a moment to update your image references to the new GitHub Container Registry URLs.

Example

E.g. ghcr.io/bitwarden/image_name:version

Where to download script files to?

So, I'm making an install.sh script to download script files from GitHub to the user's system. I know downloading to the home directory (~/script_dir/) is typically frowned upon.

For context, this is a directory containing python files, README, requirements, etc. pip dependencies need to be installed before launch. The script would be executed through main.py.

Where would be a good place to download to that won't clutter the user's home directory?

Edit: The script is a CLI interface for yt-dlp to make it easier to use. So, it will download files to specified directories on the user's system.

Edit 2: Appreciate the responses. I forgot to mention this script has a config file it uses for certain parameters, such as default download directory for each category. If a config file doesn't exist it creates one in the script's directory and dumps the default values from a default config file (YAML).

Some of you are mentioning this could be a PyPI package. Would I still be able to read/wr

Possible Steam Fix for Lagging Mouse / Game Freezing

Seems that the most recent Steam upgrade has caused some Linux user's game to lag after ~30 minutes. Restarting fixes the issue

However, there are other fixes that may eliminate the need to restart like adding to the launch arguments of the game:

Baloo with high CPU usage?

Something is wrong with Baloo 6.5.0 under KDE Plasma (Arch). I observe an extremely high CPU utilization of the baloofileextractors process. Can anyone confirm this or have other hints?

cool-retro-term is a terminal emulator which mimics the look and feel of the old cathode tube screens. It has been designed to be eye-candy, customizable, and reasonably lightweight.

It uses the QML port of qtermwidget (Konsole): https://github.com/Swordfish90/qmltermwidget.

This terminal emulator works under Linux and macOS and requires Qt5. It's suggested that you stick to the latest LTS version.

Battery installed not supported by this system and will not charge - LGC 11 01AV424

Hello everyone. I just got a new battery for my T480 from my work supplier. It is a Greencell LGC 11 Model: 01AV424 and I get a BIOS message before my bootloader:

The battery installed is not supported by this system and will not charge. Please replace the battery with the correct Lenovo battery for this system. Press the ESC key to continue.

Once I plugged it in and booted up the battery had 74% charge, and I let it discharge until 6% without the AC adaptor plugged in as per the instructions, so that I could then fully charge it (and repeat the process 3-5 times). However, once it reached 6% and I plugged it in it wasn't charging and ended up dropping to 1% where it remains even now. Below I'll include outputs from some commands.

Everything I read online mentions flashing the EC chip to whitelist the battery, or changing the BIOS to somethin
