I'm calling this 'West Coast Main Line' after the section of rail that passes through where I live.
Again, I'm using the Pro-1, a Volca Keys and an Uno Synth. This time a Model:Samples is playing a looped section.
I'm looking here about recreating the rhythm of rail using a phasing technique.
There's a bandcamp version too, where the track is free to download, if you prefer.
As before, please feel free to share any of your experiments too.

In Berlin? I've got a good-as-new 1010 Blackbox for sale
Hey folks,
Thought I should post this here in case there are any Berlin people in need of a hyper compact sampler:

I don't want to ship it because I prefer to keep it local and meet the people I'm selling to. I never have any issues this way as we meet, chat, share phone numbers, and the buyer knows where I live and how to get in touch if there's any issue at all.

Overwhelmed noob lost on what gear to start with
I got bitten by the bug years ago when I had to get a bass amp repaired under warranty. The closest place turned out to be a bunch of guys that their main business was fixing Hammond's, Wurlis, and other vintage gear. They let me try out everything in the shop! I had no clue how to play anything, but twisting so the knobs and pulling drawbars was all so fun. The Hammond and Moog were my favorite and I wanted to learn more. They were both out of budget and too big and heavy, so I started watching tons of synth videos.
Now it's about 10 years later. Earlier this year, I got a Mark I Rhodes and started learning to play and it's coming along well. It's lots of fun and I'm learning so much. But it's still not filling that void. I want to be able to experiment with sounds and make full songs with multiple layers, but I feel lost from doing so much research before jumping in.
First I wanted an Akai Mini, then the Minilab to experiment with sounds design, then the Keystep for more foc
So confused where to start with gear (almost total noob)

In celebration of 808 day, a documentary about the TR-808

I'm still learning about synths, so someone can probably give a better answer for why this was significant. However, here is what I got when I asked GPT:
The Roland TR-808 drum machine, often simply referred to as the "808," holds immense significance in the music world. Introduced in the early 1980s, the 808 synth played a pivotal role in shaping the sound of multiple genres, including hip-hop, electronic, and dance music. Its distinct analog drum sounds, such as the booming bass kick and snappy snare, have become iconic and have had a lasting influence on the sonic palette of contemporary music. The 808's affordability, innovative features, and unique sound led to its adoption by musicians and producers, helping to define the sound of an era and inspiring countless artists to explore new creative avenues.
Lost at Sea - a modest modernist symphony with monosynths

Hello!
I though you might like the more nerdier details about this track.
The equipment is a Pro-1, an Uno Synth and a Volca Keys (set to octave). All running through a Behringer xenyx and recorded on a tascam dp 006.
I used an Sq-64 for the sequencing, which was a steep learning curve but I think it came out ok.
In terms of the music I was particularly interested in timbrality changes and phasing as well as emergent patterns. I'd planned for the piece to be around an hour long, but it came to a natural conclusion at the 21 minute mark and I went with that.
There's also a version on YouTube here, where I used the recorded midi output to create an animation. It was a bit of an afterthought, but I think it might make some great and complex visuals down the line as a technique.
Ok, thank you for your time.

Behringer 2600 - FM with ADSR - lag?
I want to do fm with the asdr, but even with all potis fully down, the pitch starts high and takes about a second to get down.
Is this broken, is it a quirk of the 2600?
Ideally, I would want it to stay flat if all potis are down.
My intent is to generate a similar effect to the lag but much shorter.
Edit: I tried the same with the Arturia 2600 VST, that one behaves as expected.

I was looking for a case for my soon-to-be-here tracker, when etsy showed me the one that a lot of people have that's compatible with the TNTOR battery pack.
Unfortunately those packs are no longer easy to come by and I had asked this dude if the new version fits. He didn't know, so he took some measurements and said it wasn't compatible. Then he decided to find one that would be, and he's updating the design to fit the new battery pack.
Guy went above and beyond for me so I wanted to share the love. He asked me to pass on anyone who might be in the market for a M8 case, so I figured I would try here. As I don't currently have any IRL friends into synths/trackers.
