I open the website today and it starts blaring helicopter sounds. refreshed a few times. same result. ended when i unclicked the catbox.moe cookie. what's that about?
Hopefully this is the right place to put this. I've been browsing Lemmy through the Remmel app, but when I try to log in it doesn't ever accept my credentials.
Does anyone have a fix for this? Thanks in advance!
404: FetchError: invalid json response body at http://lemmy:8536/api/v3/site
As far as I can tell, it happens when I open multiple links in new tabs (eg. when I go to the Communities page and try to open multiple communities in a row). Maybe an overly-aggressive anti-bot mechanism?
I've only got this error on this instance, though the only other instance I frequent is lemmy.ml. The only way I've found to temporarily get rid of it is to restart the browser. Any way I can fix this besides changing my browsing habits? :)
My understanding is that accounts transfer across instances without having to sign up again. I was trying to check out the main instance lemmy.ml but couldn't figure it out, yet I saw some usernames in the format [name]@lemmygrad.ml so it seems possible somehow? Can someone explain this to me?
I tried uploading a picture to [email protected] however though when i upload a flag it has a weird oval shape. This happened for different files I chose too
I'm trying to show someone that Pol Pot was a bad person as soon as possible. He doesn't know much about him. Just don't want him to get swept up in anything that he'll regret.
Title kinda says all, but Mastodon looks interesting to me... except I don't know whether I should get one. I keep hearing that it's "Twitter for saner people." I guess? I'm fine with Twitter, even if it's a bit hectic at times. But all the same: I'm just curious about the hype surrounding Mastodon.
I'm deeply curious about this. I heard that fiction with communist messaging is called a "proletarian novel" but I'm honestly not sure. Maybe I can find something on ProlesWiki about this? I'm trying to wrap up the current session of university as it is so I'll pay a visit there some other time. Anyone else interested in this? I knew a writer friend that told me that Soviet fiction was basically its own genre and wouldn't just be, or shouldn't just be, called "magical realism" or "science fiction." Anyone else know more about this?
On posts there used to be a little star button to save posts, when you clicked on it it became yellow/gold. When you saved the posts you could look at them later by going on your profile and looking through saved posts, this was pretty useful when I wanted to look back at a post that linked to a bunch of articles or book so I can remember what articles or books they linked to and I didn't have to look around the whole of Lemmy to find it again. The problem is now the star is gone and I can't save posts anymore and all my saved posts in the saved posts tab are gone. Now it only shows me my own posts.
My apologies, I don't understand how to use moderation features whatsoever. I'm trying to add a mod to the one community I created (/c/games). Thanks for your help!
I am pretty new to lemmy and I have a very basic understanding of the fediverse. My understanding is that when lemmy gets federated the account that I made for this instance will able to used on other instances and other sites that are in the fediverse. So on that note when do you guys think federation is gonna be implemented?
