  • It's real good man. D2 I found had a great loot feeling, but the general signposting of where to go was shit. But this was mostly because they didn't update D2 in the remastered version much because I guess they knew people would be pissed if they updated it too much.

D4 was initially epic with the bois, but the slow grind and analysis paralysis of loot was annoying in the end. So much garbage loot with no filters and way too many affixes on weapons, you sit there for ages wondering if that bit of loot is better...or worse?? Or maybe good for that thing, but not the other. Urgh, and the legendary aspect thing was annoying to manage (shit, I found a weapon, but uh oh, I don't have an aspect in reserve to apply to this cool new weapon, so my build will be fucked??? yay!)

PoE has that D2 loot feeling, power growth and SPEED that D4 simply can't have due to level scaling. Honestly, why is a group of minions giving me a hard time in D4 when in PoE I can blast a screen worth of little shits in one go? Super fun.

I don't mind being a shit character when i'm level 10, NOT 70. It was a pain post campaign in D4, I should be a god not some weak maggot after I saved Sanctuary lol.

Give it a shot, it's free :) I think it's due an update in August [new league].

  • Googling my username I discovered i was quoted in a PCgamer article. Nice of em to let me know...I guess?

  • God.

    Good one dad !

  • Oh really? Nice, where would one find this?

  • Looks cool, hoping it will have auto marking as read for scrolling past posts. No apps do this yet :(

  • Wefwef is kinda silly but it has the SEO for it, nothing else on the net will not be the app right?

If I googled voyager I’m picturing some Star Trek results n other random shit (thinking of new people googling or searching the App Store)

Phoebus is cool, but might run into generic SEO and like Tildes……’howd ya say it IRL? Feeebus?? Foe-bus’

  • Sadly Started Valley didn't get started, it got the 'meh' treatment (Even i was surprised!). I think it may of been the heart-fuckery and talking she wasn't too invested in, despite the game being amazing.

Looking for some lightweight, but grindy PC games for my wife

I'm on the hunt for new PC games for mrs simo to enjoy as shes going through an ADHD phase of not enjoying anything. Her favourite is Bloons TD 6 (2600 hours!).

She doesn't really like heavy games like FPS, RTS, ARPGs or anything toooo involved. She'll try something for 10 minutes and that's the window for hit or miss [sadly in most cases].

Historically old school Pokemon games and those RPGmaker style games are good if they are well put together and have a nice story (such as Little Witch in the woods, Cult of the Lamb). Siralim Ultimate was good for a while - hopefully that gives an idea of rough genres for suggestions.

Oh and we had a good little run with Vampire Survivors and Army of Ruin too.

For whatever reason Bloons TD6 was a massive hit, and she recently got bluestacks to try some PVZ 2 again, as that was her previous 'bloons' hook. I think it's the nature of the Games as a service, with the weekly battles n unlocks and stuff. Granted, that game is really good too.

New posts keep auto popping up on lemmy.world without refreshing

Not sure why this is happening, it's been like it since I came over and it's quite annoying. No matter if it's on All and filtered by Hot,Active etc, every so often new posts will auto feed right at the top and shift everything down.

Is this a bug on my end, or intended functionality? It sucks :)

  • Yeah wefwef is the best right now for Apollo fans. If they can jerry rig the auto-marking-as-read as you scroll past posts, that will be great.

  • The deep rock galactic subreddit got overrun by kids and their stupid, shit memes, long live Lemmy!

  • Memmy for iOS, the others feature text line breaks on my iPhone SE and/or don't vanish posts that I have upvoted upon refresh. Yuck :)

  • You’re of course referring to the PC website and not the scroll marking on the mobile app right? 😁

  • When all this API shit started kicking off I didn't really like the look of lemmy, but now it looks like the best. KBin was fun for a bit but felt kind of chaotic, plus not having posts vanish after upvoting/viewing the comments was a death sentene for me. The other alternatives are just shit IMO.

Plus looks like a lot of app devs are lemmyheads, Memmy has been great after installing it today. There's no way i'm using the reddit app post June so yea...Lemmy all the way, cause everything else blows for content consumption.

  • I started playing PoE after getting to somewhat endgame in D4. Got to level 60 something and my buddy and I were like....sooo...whatcha wanna do now? Dungeon I guess? Then we just kinda stopped playing. The rubber banding and random lags were super annoying and resulted in many deaths - we had a great time but needs a lot more cookin in the oven.

PoE on the other hand has been super refreshing and non laggy (the joy of 10 yrs of development I guess) and there's soo much to chew on. In a way it feels like a natural extension of D2 (played D2R for the first time last year).
