I totally agree. We have a file for each chapter. We might just keep a trunk based approach mainly, and resort to short lived branches to allow writers to get their contributions reviewed.
Thank you for the advice
We opted for each file as a chapter. We already have the general structure. We are wondering what is the best approach. Maybe we should not have branches at all(?)
To be honest, in the beginning, I started with a branch for my own version of some chapters. We thought it was ok and merged into main. Maybe if we are going to use branches at all, having a branch for each author could make sense. We need to discuss this
This is great advice. I don't believe we need a "stable" version. I mean, at a certain point our work will be ready and that's it. We are not going to have different releases. We will have other formats (like a shorter version of this report), but in that case those would live as a different repository I guess
Yeah, I agree. I mean, we have different files for different chapters. So I guess a trunk based approach would work. Benefits from using a branch for each chapter variations might be needed, but only in specific cases. And to be honest, I think this does not really applies to us
Thank you for your reply! What are the "objects" possibly determining a branch? Features? Chapters? Writers? Releases?

Branching strategy for a text based project
Hi there, we are a small tram of social researchers working on writing a collective report together. The report has several chapters. Our plan is to use git to store changes and easily traceback to different versions as well as allowing everyone to experiment with new ideas.
I am trying to decide a branching strategy, and so far I guess something like feature branching could do. We could have a branch for each chapter..? And maybe, when a chapter is kind ready, we could merge into main..?
We will have members working potentially on different parts of the report in different moments.
Advice is needed. Thank you!
I see no points on anarchism here... Many of the things he's saying can be easily applied to China as well... 3/10
Regarding the jargon, I suggest this: https://youtu.be/RIHA53SWO20
Thank you so much for your suggestions. I wasn't even thinking about something like notion or baserow, so this is definitely a good idea.

Requirement Management Tool
Hey everyone, I work as a business ans systems analyst and I need to manage a lot of requirements. We are using documents and spreadsheets, but this approach is sooo error prone and time consuming.
I am looking for something that I will use as the sole user, for the moment, as my company has other standards right now. This will help me in making sense of structure and avoid information loss.
My main needs are traceability matrixes for tracing requirements to implementation and test cases, versioning of requirements, tracing of changes in a requirement, analyze impacts of change requests.
I am looking for a tool that supports the following diagramming and modeling frameworks: UML, BPMN, SysML. ArchiMate support might be interesting. It also need to support written requirements and specifications, business rules, objectives.
The current project I am working on extensively uses ontologies, RDF/OWL, and XML. Support for these would also be useful, but not essential. I am mostly interes

TIM down?
Tim scoppiata in Italia? News?
On mobile I have etar calendar and davx5. It generally works pretty well, even if the sync is not instantaneous. I have a few problems with inviting people to events and sending the associated email/invitation, but it's just a matter of how the SMTP servers are managed, just a minor thing
This is pretty much my setup. I use nextcloud as a calendar, but for to-do lists I am experimenting with Joplin, with a mermaid plugin for also mindmaps. I'd like to automate everything and have a all-in-one solution but it does not look like an easy thing so far

Suggestions for an organizer app
Hi everyone! Due to so many projects I'm involved into, I need an easy way to organize and visualize tasks, dependencies, and durations in order to properly plan my week.
I'm looking for an organizer app that fulfills the following requirements:
- must have a calendar management systems
- it must support multiple caldav calendars at the same time
- must have a to-do list
- each time the user creates a to-do element, they should have the option to reserve a specific time on the calendar
- when they decide to reserve a specific time on the calendar, the calendar might be chosen among the multiple support ones
- to-do tasks might be visualized as a mindmap
- for every leaf / "outer children" of the mindmap, must correspond a to-do element with the specific calendar
Does anybody knows something that does all of this?
Thank you
I've never played this game, but it's soundtrack helped me prepare for so many exams in uni that I can't even remember. I will have to try it once!

A torture device

This is probably something for spit cooking, but looks like it could have been an amazing torture device lol
I always wonder to whom this gets reported to
Ti ringrazio.
This is exactly what I am looking for. I am interested also in how other federated applications do it. I had a look at Pixelfed's documentation, but they don't seem to have an API for that... Do you know anything about other services?
This is good, thank you! How about Pixelfed, Pleroma, Misskey, kbin?
This is very helpful. Unfortunately the source code is not available... How did you find this service? Maybe you can point me to some other resource
This is super useful! Thank you!

List of Federated Instances
Hi everyone, I have some technical questions regarding federation. Answers backed by documentation would be perfect.
- Is there a way to get the list of federated instances of a specific instance?
- (Regarding question 1, should this consider active followers between instances? If not actively defederated/blocked, when one account follows another from another instance, the two instances get federated, right?)
- Can I get a list of actively blocked/defederated/muted instances?
- How does this change between applications? Are for example Lemmy and Mastodon the same?
My goal is to possibly create a graph/network analysis.
Thank you for your help.

Adozione IPv6 Italia
Ciao a tutti ragazzi! Qualche novità a riguardo?
