  • would people show up for these? honestly, going to the cinema is expensive as hell and often not even that good. In days when people have 65' (or larger) 4k TVs with an Atmos soundbar what is the benefit of going to the cinema? Sure, cinemas often have better quality picture and sound, but not always, I've experienced my fair share of bad theaters.

Living outside the US, it also means that I only get subtitled screenings instead of dubbed ones for large blockbusters, which is very annoying.

If find myself in a bit of a paradox. I want more diverse movies to be made, but honestly I doubt I would go to the cinema to watch them when I can do it more comfortably at home.

  • as a person raised in what was a very conservative catholic household in latin america, I feel like there is a new wave of very reactionary catholicism coming from the US that makes the Opus Dei or Legionaireslook like reasonable people.

  • There should be laws against poorly maintained office ACs.

there are regulation about this. in decent offices they regularly check things like air flow, speed, quality of the air, temperature , etc

enforcing them is a different story

  • since the last time I checked (could be they've made progress since then):

    • subtitle auto sync
    • smart collections
    • way better support for downloads, particularly transcoded ones
    • skip intro and credits
    • better UI (this one is subjective but I did find annoying little bugs often)
    • I've found that it takes way longer to update & scan larger libraries
    • overall disparity between clients on different platforms (in my case, webos, firetv and iOS).

in short it's a lot of tiny little things that make my overall experience just annoying.

Replacing cooktop. is a 2cm difference in cutout a big deal?

    Hello!

I plan to replace an electric vitroceramic cooktop for an induction one. Both are 60cm in width, but looking at their manuals, the current one specifies a cutout of 58cm while the new one says 56cm. Both specify the same height (49cm)

Now, thankfully I dont need to make the hole larger, but Im wondering if the extra 2cm will be a problem or not? The cooktop should cover the entire hole but Im not sure if it the extra space could allow it to move around. I'm hoping it would be ok (they tend to have an anti-slippery silicon thingy), but I prefer to ask if some has experience just in case.

Looking for sources for 2160p HDR TV series (that could be automated)

I have been using showrss for very long time to get a rss feed of my tv shows. unfortunately they dont support more than 1080p. I've been looking to upgrade to something that allow me to automate downloads that supports 4k and HDR releases of shows. I don't have access to any private tracker atm.

I currently use the software flexget to automate my downloading, if that is important.

    what are my options?

Any recommendations on where to get Torrents for movies dubbed to Spanish?

Finding movies dubbed to Spanish (particularly children/family movies) seems tricky. Seems that 'sphere likes their download links. Which are good places to get them? I dont mind if it's latinamerican or spanish dubbing
