I've been seeing quite a lot of chinese cars, actually (all of them EVs). I think they might be more common than Tesla in my area.

IMO, the prerequisite for cheaper EVs is offering models that are not SUVs. The article is a bit ambiguous about this, but "European-made models will include two compact and one midsize SUVs with combustion, plug-in hybrid or all-electric powertrains." sounds to me like they're mostly going to make 'compact SUVs' and 'midsize SUVs'. Or the article's author just focuses on their SUV offerings while ignoring smaller cars.

Könnte auch sein, dass die Veranstalter den Einstellungen der Gruppe komplett zustimmen, aber vor dem politischen Druck eingeknickt sind. Was die Gruppe von sich gibt ist ja soweit ich weiß nicht komplett illegal in Deutschland (zumindest laut dem, was die Welt beschreibt), da konnte man durchaus hoffen, dass man damit durchkommt die auftreten zu lassen.

Can't blame them, learning a language from a completely different language family is really hard, especially if you also have to learn a completely different writing system (though the latin alphabet is at least objectively simpler than the chinese and japanese writing systems). I lucked out because German and English are closely related, but I didn't even manage to properly learn Spanish despite trying for 6 years.

This is a bit of an urban myth. The average age of an adult's cells might be about 7 years, but e.g. many of your brain cells and nerves stay with you your entire life. Considering that neurons are kind of the most important ones when we're talking about mental issues, that pretty much takes all the inspiration away.

The Germans are definitely just using Reddit. As the other commenter said, compare the numbers of native speakers of e.g. German (about 100 million) with those of English (about 400 million) and then consider how much more common English is as a second language compared to most other European languages. Spanish is probably the biggest question mark here, they actually have more native speakers than English. There is also the possibility that Reddit-style platforms just aren't as popular everywhere, it appeals to a particular demographic that might just not be as big in e.g. Colombia as it is in, say. Sweden.

I use the browser extension 'auto tab discard', have 16GB RAM (32GB on my desktop) and my uptime is usually several months before I reboot for a kernel update, but I can usually go at least half a year without any issues. I think I'm literally more likely to accidentally press my deskop's power button than to have any kind of software issue that forces me to reboot.

I do turn it off via hibernation, though. I'm not an Umweltsau.
