Roping Haiti Into the Global Fragility Act Is Washington’s End Goal

The Haitian people are once again facing imperialist interference in their fate. The island in the Caribbean is experiencing growing violence and systematic violations, control over territories by armed groups, repression, and subjection of the people’s interests to transnational capital. Living conditions in urban and rural areas are becoming dramatically worse. The access to food and the circulation of peasant production has been deeply affected. This is precisely why they are at the center of the popular peasant feminist resistance. Amid this situation, the UN, which has been historically responsible for military interventions that have led to increasingly profound social and political problems, is once again working in line with US imperialism. On the video below, Islanda Micherline, of La Via Campesina Haiti, denounces the role of countries

  • Having a toggleable option to get notifications from replies to your repliers, and so on, would be a lot more helpful than the microblog style of @mentioning every person above you in a chain.

  • One of the few advantages X (formerly known as Twitter) still has over ActivityPub is the ability to dunk on Washington's pet governments in exile

  • You can also substitute the effects of nukes without any of their repercussions, even if you're forced to because you don't have nukes & any allies with nuke wouldn't meet that level of escalation, with precision weaponry aimed at important targets instead of wide effect nukes on bases although obviously the latter's always going to be more bang...

  • I think Biden's definition of xenophobic here is "unwilling to sacrifice everything in a suicidal world war on the Pacific front"

  • It's awesome when people encounter someone with OCD for the first time and they keep coming back to "wow, that guy is so irrational" like people have no idea what it is like, or schizophrenia is like, I don't think they are willing to make the leap or it scares them. I always give people the example of a schizophrenic man I knew online suffering from hallucinations of door knocks at night. Even after the guy had a video camera set up to cross reference with his own senses, it's not like he stops hearing the door knock that requires him to either dismiss it as implausible, or check the equipment.

  • Also these people lawyers are surely building large network graphs to identify p2p traffic so one might as well give them less information about where other people are seeding to or torrenting from.

  • Saw an eleven-egged carton last time I went to my grocer, seemed like someone really just opened it then fucked off. Then again maybe they just saw the missing egg. Life's little mysteries are all around us if you know where to look.

  • I think that's something that people should emphasize to Windows & MacOS/iOS users more, the problems are impossible for you to truly resolve, and the next update could make your program that fixes said problems obsolete, or makes it impossible to control what network traffic your computer sends entirely in order to torrent Windows Updates to other users. Linux has presented me with problems which can be solved in a variety of ways and really helpful troubleshooting resources that have a side benefit of introducing you to cute online groups of people who tend towards anti-corporate politics/incoherent left libertarian at a minimum

The Geopolitics of Labor: Israel’s Quest To Replace Palestinian Workers With Indians

    By F.M. Shakil – Apr 24, 2024

Israel is mitigating its labor shortage by importing Hindu-only Indians after revoking work permits for Palestinians – an old colonial practice that could impact its deepening geopolitical ties with New Delhi.

On 10 April, in the thick of the war on Gaza, the Israeli government, facing a labor crisis, announced that it would fly in 6,000 Indian laborers during April and May on state-subsidized shuttle flights.

This decision follows Israel’s suspension of work permits for Palestinian construction workers, a move that has significantly impacted its building sector. Israel’s Finance Ministry estimates that the absence of Palestinian laborers is costing the economy about [three billion shekels](https://www.timesofisrael.com/finance-ministry-says-ban-on-palestinian-workers-could-cost-econo

Poast owner was bragging about poisoning the results Cloutier of Bird.Makeup gets from their server, if you use that service we need an alternative lol. Currently I use my friend's small Nitter.

From looking at their posts they were able to get enough performance to start caching popular tweets, that doesn't sound that expensive to me. Might get into hosting that soon but putting this out there in the hopes someone else does, I'm happy with my secluded option.

Still, having you all using something being routed thru people who poison results with Israel tweets for teh lulz seems like bad for everyone no?
