There's really isn't enough time to argue with everyone, and these people are probably used to being argued with, and might even take it as evidence of some big conspiracy. -- If you want to make changes in the word, there are more productive ways then arguing on obscure forums.
Because all their friends stay. So to get them to switch, you'd need everyone thay know to switch, which would need everyone they know to switch...
... soon, you need to organize a switch between millions of people, which really isn't happening.
So the only people on fedi are those ok with keeping multiple profiles, and even then just the ones that value the technical aspects over quantity of content: mostly tech nerds and people with strong feelings about politics.
Cold soda holds on to carbonation better. Try keeping it in the fridge before pouring. This also reduces how much the ice waters down your soda
But when China steals all their (arguably not copywrite-able) work...
TLDR:
They found debugging commands that can be used to access the memory of the device over USB. This is as much a backdoor as any device that runs unsigned firmware
Unless you store secret files on your Bluetooth dongle, you shouldn't have to worry about this.
Cartels have boats, but no one's shipping drugs up to Canada just to smuggle them south: They just get shipped directly to the US
Trump is just making up an excuse to justify cutting off trade with Canada.
Really, the whole fentanyl thing seems like scaremongering: People do overdose on it, but you won't die from touching it or inhaling trace quantity. It's not even the most potent opioid known, not even close to it.
If it's not running on the cloud, I can always just stay on an old version. If it's open source, that old version can be maintained and updated indefinitely.
Save money and get to know your neighbors.
Trump probably won't cause total collapse, so a basement full of beans is unlikely to be useful, but anyone relying on welfare or part of a minority group will need support. Savings will help with that, and could come in handy if you yourself get fired, either because of discrimination or economic recession.
Not at all. Eggs were never a significant experience to begin with.
Use unidentifiable backgrounds or remove them in post. I'd suggest small patches of sand, dirt or grass, walls, etc. Avoid anything that can be found on a map like mountains (and other large scale topography), buildings, power lines, etc.
Basically, chinese Instagram, that a lot of people are joining in protest to the incoming TikTok ban.
Good catch.
Assuming this has a 47 hydrogens stuck on to make it stable, I'd call it:
3-methyl-3,4,5,5,6-pentaethyl-6-buta-2-yl decane
I don't think tiktok is worse then any other large platform. All platforms have brain rot, all platforms have dumb challenges and all platforms do a lot of spying.
I'd hope this is just a freakout about someone else spying, but It feels like an excuse to start banning a whole bunch of stuff for flimsy reasons.
... and as for the spying itself, I would be far more worried about my local government getting that data then China. I don't live anywhere near China, what are going to do? Sell me stuff? like google does?
Go talk to the mods, but perhaps consider not posting stuff like this:
... There's an important distinction between someone with pedophilia and a child molester ...
But, to be honest being banned from hexbear is probably a good thing. That place is a shithole.
Sounds like a great reason not to bother worrying about it to me.

This is actually the exact same effect as the characteristic impedance of a transmission line, while pulse is traveling down it, the transmission line will appere to have a particular impedance, regardless of what is on the other end.

Position on piracy, etc.
I am not familiar with the legal situation this instance's server and owner is in, are there any actions a user could take that could expose the operators to legal liability? Could the instance face problems if someone posts a link to pirated content? What about general discussion of piracy? Or any other possibly legally problematic content?
