  • At least for me, we had 2/4 joycons develop stick drift and we had to replace the sticks with magnetic ones. It was expensive, but worth it. But ill be honest, for the price, im not looking to get the Switch 2 this time around.

  • Just about. People are expecting miyoo and some of the other companies to follow in a bit. Theres some American stock still in Amazon warehouses, but thats basically it.

It takes 3 weeks to get over here via boat so im thinking we will see more and more cancellations with various shipments in the next coming weeks.

jan.wildeboer.net The Web is Broken — Botnet Part 2

I guess you have all heard about the growing problem of AI companies trying to aggressively collect whatever data they can get their hands on to train their models. This has caused an explosive surge in web crawlers relentlessly hitting servers big and small. But who runs these crawlers? Turns out —...

  • I try to support publishers that give you the full ebooks like baen library.

Calibre helped me back up my entire amazon library in a way my kobo can now read instead of just kindle. Both are excellent devices, but I wanted a backlight after 7+ years with the same ebook reader. And I'm not about to purchase all those books aain for the privilege of using the kobo bookstore. Plus Calibre makes it so no matter what you get (pdf/ebook/proprietary format) you can get a good old fashion ebook format for future preservation.

This is a showcase of combining vibe coding with the Fediverse and attempto controlled english (ace).

I'm fascinated by vibe coding, but I'm also highly critical of it. It fascinates me, because it enables people, who normally cannot code to be able to generate running code. What I don't like, is that it just isn't actual programming. It's closer to a wishing well. It fosters a quasi-magical understanding of programming and computer science, which is already too common in current society (I wrote a paper about it here: https://philpapers.org/rec/BINAKR). That's why, in my opinion, the Fediverse should set a counter-point here with something like a first-order logic language like ACE, which actually brings people closer to an actual understanding of computer science concepts like modeling and logic without hiding the complexity behind seemingly "magic", and could also result in better code.

The above demo shows a glimpse
