  • I've gone to write something almost exactly like this several times and never quite finished. I like how this is set up. It seems like one thing that could be improved is parameterizing the configs a bit so that e.g. matching a 200 status gives a standard label that doesn't need added to every job

  • In addition to the reasons given by others, it's because Republicans are eugenicists who think people should have been and should continue to be left to die if they get sick. Mail-in voting was expanded during covid to make it more accessible, and they (in media) seized on the opportunity to drive a wedge between people and create doubt in the democratic system. If your goal is authoritarianism, any small step to reduce faith in electoral systems is a win because it gives you an excuse to take control outside of elections.

  • I'm not sure that your second point is still a constant, though this is just an opinion and I'm open to discussion on this. They seem to have solved the problem of people not being up to mass killings, through desensitization through social media (I'm thinking of telegram groups specifically). There have been a lot of cases shown recently of people taking outright glee in their and others' grotesque murders, en masse.

  • I'm also thinking like...snow-blowers are kinda dangerous. How does it know it's not about to chew through your limb or pet? Does it just charge through whatever?   • It troubles me that this topic immediately falls into discussions of solutions, and especially the turning of that to immediately think of restricting human movement, without any regard for the possibility that this is not a tragedy of some sort but instead something normal and fine.

    It also troubles me that no attention seems to be paid as to why birth rates started falling so significantly in 2020. Mass infertility seems like something worth noting on a medical level, but people are stuck going "brown skin people no come here" like some kinda fucking morons
