  • Probably going to work. Just another company trying to wring money from their user base since they can't reasonably grow. So many people were like "oh I'm cancelling Netflix if I can't share it" and then it was record sign ups for them and overall more money.

They are doing this right before The Boys comes back on and somewhat during Invincibles part 2 airing. People will be annoyed and pay the upcharge.

And like me pirating those still won't change much since I already was.

  • I'm sure too people will be like "oh but you played 40 hours! It can't be that bad" but the first 10-15 are misery from a gameplay perspective, like you're just trying to level up to get more carrying capacity and get more combat options.

  • I think uncanny valley isn't quite the feeling I'm describing. Maybe I'm being pedantic but it's different than that. Image generation can create some realistic people who completely avoid uncanny valley. It's just AI generated people have like "thumbprints" of AI. Like a certain sheen, similar creases, and a 'generic'-ness.

Maybe it's something that comes from looking at them a bunch. I spent a lot of time messing with stable diffusion making stupid shit. And it's like I guess the same feeling when you watch movies with a cinematographer/director you're familiar with. Like even it's a movie you haven't seen before, the color pallet, composition, and framing is like "oh this was made by x."

I've been impressed by how detailed and realistic some pictures are but like the lighting is a huge giveaway.

  • Thanks to AI I know the answer is yes. They give me a vague feeling of "off" no matter how good it is.

But some people can't be convinced that a picture of a poreless six fingered woman with extra eyelids is AI generated. So, person to person.

  • should i??

  • Going off the Twitter profile picture and nothing else, I'm guessing this is a self post. Because what a wild ass thing to suggest. Normal humans assume keys or coins.

"Make fun of me and my chastity cage please!"

  • How's it hidden? You to to the default app settings...

Or just install another browser and they'll walk you through it.

I find Windows way more egregious, it will allow you to set it but not really, half of anything you do will open edge and then they'll occasionally reset your default browser with bugger updates.

  • Yeah, I was lucky to get the crazy ass unemployment during covid like week one. And I was applying to jobs but not hearing shit back. I had essentially four months of making more money than I had at that point. ($900 a week is pretty goddamn good) and wanted a job super bad lol. Like I was definitely picky but a good fulfilling job can't be beat. You can only do hobbies so long before you're doing them to fill time and they loose luster.

Ended up learning programming in that time and started that as a career and am doing incredibly well. So I do love my job and know I'd rather do that than nothing

  • I was interested at first but then slowly came in the freedom of speech stuff.

Sounds like another truth social, rumble bullshit thing. "Don't worry if your favorite Nazi gets deplatformed we got their back! Now you'll see they moved to Rumble." Depending on their discovery it'll be a cesspit in no time.

  • Permanently Deleted

  • This happens so many times. I'm a pretty firm believer in walking away for 15 minutes is a crucial part of the debugging process. It's just hard sometimes to know when to stop and stop trying shit for a bit.

Also rubber duck debugging, I'll talk to my dog but fuck it works so many times. Shes helpful.

  • There's a general sense of you should try to ethically pirate. Like no one cares if you shoplift from Walmart, but you're a dick doing it to the local mom and pop grocery store who's barely getting by.

On a more selfish level, paying for the things you enjoy shows whoever made it they'll get money for it. Simple as that. If you really enjoy something stealing it isn't going to convince them to make more. There's been more than once where a game or show got pirated more than bought legally and it's killed any future projects for it.

  • I'm pro net neutrality and all for getting it on the books.

But has any company broken net neutrality since it was repealed? I haven't seen some of the stuff we expected. Maybe they wanted to lay low on it but like Comcast hasn't restricted Netflix and pushed out 10x for Peacock stream or anything. I'm sure some stuff would go down eventually. But curious if this has happened

  • Idk this is ambiguous stuff is how you can waste an hour with your players ripping everything off the walls because they think you being unclear is a signifier of something. Like you have to be more clear than ambiguous over all because they are playing a game and unless they are checked out will drill down into it. Maybe you don't mind them wasting an hour investigating a pointless room or doing everything they can on an object because you were vague about it but it's not rewarding for players. Like being vague about a rock is going to have any player take it with them compared to saying "it's just a rock." Maybe you can take those moments and make memories from improv'ing with them but itll get exhausting for both sides after awhile.

Survivability of an r/Megalinks community on Lemmy

Since we are all pirates moving away from Lemmy I was thinking if another r/Megalinks style community could be made on Lemmy and survive? (Or pehaps already exists?)

For those that don't know Reddit pirate history, r/megalinks was a sub where people shared links to megaupload usually for files for download. It was a very unique hub and usually had some rare stuff that downloaded quickly thanks to the uploaded service not being p2p. I actually still have a full back up of it that I'll check for stuff I can't find and they'll still be working.

But as Reddit got bigger posts kept getting hit with takedown requests until Reddit itself got sick of it and banned the community. Eventually the community there made Snahp, which is very good but it's private status makes it feel a bit small compared to the old megalinks sub in terms of available options.

Posting links is sort of a strange grey area, even more so than torrent hosting, But idk what the reality of having a community like that w

    OTA Update 6/8

June 8th - Balance Updates Happy Spider-Versus season! We’ve got 5 updates for you this week, including an update to a starter card. Let’s hop right in!

    Spider-Man

    ● [Old] 4/3 - On Reveal: Your opponent can’t play cards at this location next turn.

    ● [New] 5/4 - On Reveal: Your opponent can’t play cards at this location next turn.

Spider-Man performs very well in multiple decks like High Evolutionary lockdown and Galactus. We want to avoid these kinds of playstyles being too powerful as they are frustrating to play against, so we’ve decided to adjust Spider-Man to limit his play in combos like Spider-Man into Professor X. While this does put him at the same Cost as his lockdown peer Professor X, we think that their effects are distinct enough that they can both sit at 5-Cost.

    Beast

    ● [Old] 2/2 - On Reveal: Return your other cards at this location to your hand. They cost 1 less.

    ● [New] 3/4 - On Reveal: Return your other cards at this location to your hand. They cost 1 l
