  • it's reassuring at least we pick the very best, smartest and most qualified leaders to manage all this.

Reminds me of that episode of Futurama: "Fortunately, our handsomest politicians came up with a cheap, last minute way to combat global warming."

  • Yeah, I think it's a case of schools meeting their metrics by any means necessary, because we shouldn't be seeing reading and math skills dipping while graduation rates go up.

  • Sekiro 2! Please. It's all I want.

  • I don't think so. The joke is that you're supposed to put your arms up in the air to appear bigger when you run into bears, so bear-cop is suddenly intimidated when the perp does it.

  • I don't think it's making fun of anything in particular. This guy's whole deal is coming up with fake features for apps that would be incredibly annoying.

  • I procrastinated doing this for years, then finally set up a NAS a few months ago and backed everything up so that I could make the switch. It was worth it.

  • Does it help if I tell you that I love my cat more than RAM and would never trade him?

  • Whoops, thank you. I'll remove.

  • I haven't played any of the similar games I'm seeing listed alongside it, but I generally enjoy challenging roguelikes. I'll just jump into it.

Not sure if this is the most current version, but I just installed what was in the flatpak repo.

  • The noise-making toys have a tendency to go "missing" in our house.

  • Thanks! Would you say this is a "watch a video first" game? Or can you just jump into it?

  • This looks fun. Downloading.

  • I changed one of my PCs over to Debian this month, and I was surprised at how smooth it is. I guess I was expecting it to be way more barebones. I don't know if I need more than this!

  • His wife seems to be the only one who can rein him in.

  • Just looked it up, and I'm seeing that his name is a sort of contradiction. His first name is "Light", and the characters in his last name mean "night god".

It sounds like sort of a "light vs dark" / "good vs evil" wordplay, although I don't know if that counts as a pun.

  • With grief, the only way out is through. Unlike other mental ailments such as depression or anxiety, you're not going to find a cognitive distortion or flawed line of thinking that is responsible for the distress and can be challenged. Grief is logical, and we have to feel it until it becomes less intense.

What we can do is modulate how much we're processing at any given moment to try to keep it manageable. Think of it like that saying, "How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time." You can't change the total size of the task, but you can control how big of bites you take.

Finding what helps you reduce the "bites" will be personal, but starting with some general coping skills like "thought-stopping", meditation, or any activity that keeps your mind active and occupied is a good start.

  • That sounds like a fun house to live in.

When I was double-checking the date of this sign before posting earlier, I saw a handful of results for vendors selling them. You could probably find one pretty easily if you decide you want it.

  • I miss when no politicians even understood what the internet was.

  • Jesus...
