I think in this case, it's the proper nouns that should be used. If we learned it as Zhōnghuá Rénmín Gònghèguò (or at least whichever part of that translates to "China"), it wouldn't be too bad. There's not much point in also using the Cantonese versions of "country", "language", etc., since most languages have their own analogue for these concepts
A demonym is a noun that specifically refers to a person from a particular location; you can't use it as an adjective.
So in your second list, a school can't be a Muscovite, since it isn't a person. You could have met a Muscovite at the school in Moscow.
You would just say that you dated a Londoner. You would then use an adjective to describe the Londoner further (a female Londoner) or make the sentence longer and a bit clunkier IMO (a Londoner who was a woman)
The Exynos, M series, and Qualcomm chips are all ARM architecture, as opposed to the AMD and Intel CPUs, which are x86.
Because of this, the majority of software wouldn't natively work on them. Apple has obviously developed versions of many programs that function on their laptops, and could extend the same treatment to the hypothetical desktop product. The other chip companies do not have this benefit, and would have to develop supported software from the ground up
You should remove the nvidia drivers. AFAIK leaving them on won't affect the AMD GPU, but no sense in keeping them if you aren't using them.
AMD's open source drivers work perfectly out of the box and come with the mesa package which comes packaged with most Linux distros, so it's pretty much plug and play.
Just some FYI notes : Arch purists might get upset if you ask for help with Arch-derived distros (like Endeavour) on their forums. Also, RTFM. Check if https://wiki.archlinux.org/ has clear answers before asking online. Learning for yourself is always better than being spoonfed
Normally no, since one gonosome comes from each parent: The mother (XX) and the father (XY).
If somehow a series of unfortunate meioses occurred to create a zygote that had two Y chromosomes and no X chromosome, the foetus would absolutely not be viable, since the X chromosome contains many essential genes, while the Y chromosome is a truncated version that has less than half the information
I still browse the reddit front page occasionally (I know, ban me) and most posts there from r/conservative have them celebrating because Trump is apparently enacting a plethora of beneficial policies.
I'm not from the USA, so I don't know how accurate or significant those claims are, but it seems the conservative agenda is advancing as planned
I was following the installation guide and things were going smoothly until I started flashing the recovery.img
For some reason the phone started power cycling, which interrupted the flash. Unplugging and re-plugging it in seemed to resolve it, and it got back to bootloader mode. I flashed the recovery image onto it and tried entering recovery mode, but now it only goes to the bootloader, irrespective of the option I choose.
Is the phone screwed, or can I salvage this?
ED. Fastboot detects the phone when it's plugged in but adb does not
I have an RTX 3060 that I bought about two years ago. Until recently I only had a 1080p 75Hz monitor, so I could play pretty much anything on max settings.
Then I decided to treat myself to a 1440p 180Hz monitor, which has been amazing. Obviously this is a lot more GPU intensive, so I have had to turn down some settings. Then I decided to try out FSR. I'm on Linux and gaming mostly through Proton, so it was as easy as adding a launch command.
Holy crap. Elden ring (admittedly not a very intensive game) went from a choppy 50 fps on high settings and medium ray tracing, to a smooth 60 fps on maxed out settings and high ray tracing with FSR Quality. And I can't even tell the difference from the upscaling! I'm super impressed and can't wait to try out FSR 2 and DLSS now!
I bought some new drives to replace the old ones I had lying around, and want to replace them entirely (4x 1tb -> 2x 4tb). I have a few apps running on it (Syncthing, Transmission, Tailscale, etc.), and I wanted to know what the best way to perform a drive upgrade would be. AFAIK the apps are installed on the pool as well, so will I just have to reinstall them from scratch?
The motherboard has 5 SATA ports, which are all currently occupied, so I don't know if I can do an "in-house" replacement.
I have Navidrome set up on my home server running TrueNAS, and I've set up a few playlists there via the web interface. However, I've noticed that the android apps with OpenSubsonic support do not allow me to create playlists on them.
Are there any apps with this feature (as well as local download support), or is this not supported over OpenSubsonic?

So I have a TrueNAS server set up at home, and it would be cool to have access to it at all times. I currently have Syncthing set up to access and back up my most essential files on my phone and laptop, but it would be nice to be able to access all the ... legally obtained files I have stored there wherever I go.
I looked into Nextcloud, but that requires paying for a domain. So are there any other options for this?
Hello again. I have several movies saved on my NAS, and wanted to have them in one folder for easy searching while also having folders for specific genres.
I tried creating some symlinks on my Linux machine, but those aren't visible on Windows or Android. I then tried creating shortcuts on a Windows machine, but those don't work on Linux or Android.
Is there any hope for setting up universally recognized symlinks/shortcuts?
Hi all. I recently (yesterday) set up a TrueNAS Core server from some old hardware I had lying around, and it feels great to be self-hosting!
I currently only have Syncthing set up on it for a couple of files, but I'd like to be able to manage all the files on the pool from my phone if I need to. What would be the best software to accomplish this?
Hi, all
I'm going to list games here, and you can DM me to ask for the code. I'll try to timeously update the post to exclude games someone's already claimed, but please don't be upset if you miss out on one you wanted.
And please don't message me asking for everything!
These drivers are listed as "alpha quality", and they're not technically the full open driver, but how are they compared to Nouveau or the usual closed driver?
How's the stability and performance?
