  • Thank you for saying this, my confidence is boosted :D Perhaps I can just start with homebrew DND and learn the rules and creatures as I go. I tried reading a campaign book and was immediately overwhelmed. I can play DND just fine, but running a proper campaign requires knowing creatures and loot pools and every plot point and scenario ahead of time.

My regular DM has been running our DND in a similar manner, homebrew with the rules for combat. He's more experienced in DND, but I know he will just let us do what our characters will do, and our last 3 sessions have completely ended differently than the DM planned for. Not gone off the rails, but gone in a different direction that still fit their story.

  • I wrote my own TTRPG in part because finding a table that

    • fits my schedule
    • has an empty seat

Is impossible. I am also too smoothe brained to DM DND, so I made a simpler version with zombie survival.

  • TL;DR: We have 3 cones that detect light: red, green, blue, but the green and blue cones both get activated from the same colors. Using a focused laser, it is possible to block one of the 2 cones such that each cones group can see independently

YSK: Here's a list of browser extensions to un-shittify Youtube

Why YSK: Youtube's enshittification creates an abysmal experience. There's a list of Chrome extensions I've collected over the years that each fix an aspect of Youtube to bring back a genuine experience. I've seen in comments people mention one or two of these at a time, so this is a pack that contains everything you could need, and more.

We cannot fathom operating 2 separate bodies because 1 body is overwhelming as it is.

We operate our body with a single processor, the brain. Our organs are also managed by the brain. The brain is highly optimized to operate each of our organs, control motor functions, and allow us to think.

1 brain cannot control 2 bodies, there's simply too much going on. Likewise, 2 full brains cannot control the same body, they would fight for resources. Organs keep the brain alive, the brain keeps organs alive. It's a 1:1 ratio, sometimes less than 1, but never double (some have been born with extra controllable appendages but it's few and far between).

Therefore, only a higher, more generalized, processor could handle operating 2 or more distinct beings.

If only our cells could talk.

Getting the group together in a zombie apocalypse

    Hello AGM!

My players have not encountered each other, but are engaged in their own individual plots. At some point, I'd like them to be a part of the same colony, without forcing it (IE get them to becoming a "party" and working together).

I think I've hit a point where each group needs something from the other:

    • Group 1 has safety and weapons, but no food
    • Group 2 has safety and food, but no weapons
    • Group 3 has food and weapons, but no safety

This setup was entirely on accident, but I think it will lead to them all running into each other for different reasons.

At this point, should I just airdrop hints that the other group(s) have what they need? Or how can I get to the end goal of unification?

The Zombie TTRPG is a homebrew that I made, rules are here:

    Random Crashes

Is it kinda just common for games to crash to "desktop" on Deck? Had mine about 2 weeks, no matter if it's big, small, or dolphin emulated, games will randomly crash on me, and the Deck restarts itself.

If there's any known general settings that can stop the crashing, that'd be great.

    Day Zero: A Zombie TTRPG

    Details:

    • Bi-weekly Wednesdays 6 PM PST
    • Ongoing game
    • Zombies homebrew
    • Discord for VC
    • Roll20 for Tabetop
    • 50/50 RP and Combat

    As of this post:

    • 2 other players + 1 GMPC
    • Looking for 1-2 more players
    • This invitation is open indefinitely

Hello! I wrote Day Zero, a zombies TTRPG, which is in its first full campaign! Its aim is to be fun and simple while allowing skill and strategy. The campaign starts the day before a zombie apocalypse, and continues indefinitely (or until the GM determines an ending).

The Gameplay is based on zombie media like Walking Dead, Left 4 Dead, etc. The zombies are Romero's zombies. The characters know what zombies are (they watch movies) and are allowed to know how to kill them.

You will be joining after the apocalypse has started, but as of this post, we are just getting to the second day of the outbreak.

For your first session, I'll ask you to describe a typical day for your character, before the outbreak, to create a visual of their eve
