  • The Monk and Robot series. Takes place in a postindustrial eco conscious society. A young monk decides to become a traveling tea maker (an actual profession, sort of a casual therapist).

Eventually they meet a robot that wants to learn about humans.

  • The rogue I DM always asks where the brothel is. I just make up names and charge him gold for the stay.

While on the road the party stopped at a tavern in a small town. It was run by two sisters that were very friendly with the rogue and the paladin. The sisters led them downstairs and into their respective rooms. When their backs were turned the doppelgangers attacked!

The paladin's steed sensed he was in trouble and burst in the tavern and hoofed it to the cellar. The monk and wizard realized what was happening and begrudgingly put down their drinks to go help.

  • https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL1CPB-gBhcNVqwY0-fWgIdjnkPeMcfFFE David Bowie narrates Sergei Prokofiev's 'Peter And The Wolf'. The narrator tells a story and the orchestra illustrates by using different instruments to play a "theme" that represents each character in the story.

For modern stories I like The Curse. It's about an archeologist that falls in love with a mummy that comes to life.

  • Correct, I have to manually select which device to play from, but Spotify also remembers the current playlist when switching. Tidal doesn't, device sessions are separate.

Spotify doesn't remember the queue though, so shuffled playlists get reshuffled when switching devices. It causes repeats and it's really annoying. Deezer has the best session management I've used. It remembers the whole queue.

  • Seamlessly switching between music players. I can have a song playing on my computer, then switch to my phone when I get in the car.

I tried Tidal earlier this year and that was one of the main complaints I had. Their version only works on specific devices that Tidal is partnered with.

  • It may be that I remember associating Limewire specifically with music. I know it was just a torrent client, but as a highschooler I only knew it as a way to get free music. I think a lot of people in my school had the same impression.

Once I was more tech savvy I also went the uTorrent, qbittorrent route. That's what I use in my Jellyfin setup today.

  • It was one of the most popular clients in the early 2000s. It also had several clones, like FrostWire. I heard about Limewire in like 9th grade and it was my introduction to torrenting. My family still had dial up internet, so I would queue up several songs to download over night while no one was using the phone.

  • I'm in the same boat. My girlfriend is pescatarian, mostly because she thinks animals are too cute to eat. She loves pigs and thinks they are adorable.

I agree that vegetarianism is more sustainable and humane, but I also really like carnitas burritos. I eat way more seafood now and, though she says she doesn't care, I try to avoid "farm animal" meat when we go out.

I've definitely reduced my meat consumption and I will probably continue to do so, but I'm not ready to cut it out yet. I had prime rib for Thanksgiving and it was amazing. Apologies and thanks to the cow.

  • Same. It's not a bad film. It is a fairly logical progression from the first movie. I was actually surprised it wasn't more fantastical. There were several points where they could have escalated to a city wide musical caper, but they kept it grounded.
