  • I suffer from the paradox of tolerance whereby those who want a tolerant society must not tolerate intolerance. Those that are intolerant must be removed from society if you are to truly achieve tolerance.

I guess I'm fascist now too..

  • I live in an area without public sewerage though. All our sewage goes into a series of septic tanks underground in our backyard.

It's a bit of a pain really because in summer when all the grass is brown the septic tank area still requires attention.

  • Ubuntu snap store is full of trouble, mint has a good reputation for beginners.

I used debian a long time as my main gaming machine but it wasn't handling the transition to nvidia with wayland very well from what I could tell. I ended up switching to nobara (fedora based) because of its gaming set-up and that was awesome until fedora dropped X11. Wayland is still a big drama with nvidia so I have now switched to arch.

My arch installation is great, I'm loving it and since I last installed it on my other machine about 6 years ago the archinstall script has gone a long way and it's pretty easy to install now.

Anyway, whichever one you choose be sure to install X11 instead of wayland for now until nvidia comes to the wayland party.

Late update on my chicken with the lesion

Hi there. It was requested that I post an update of my chicken after advice was sought for her lesion.

She was in quarantine for a week and literally on the first day began to immediately look better.

Sorry for such a late update. Enjoy the picture of my Daughter's hand raised hen that follows us around the garden.

    Nvidia mouse polling

Hi there, I have a quick question regarding my system and mouse lag with nvidia proprietary drivers on X11 using OBS with NVENC.

My system runs great with red dead redemption 2 for around 40 minutes until I begin to lose frames when mouse looking. I can leave the mouse and perform intensive graphical actions and it still runs perfectly without mouse input.

I assume it might be a misconfiguration on the mouse or a known bug with nvidia but am unsure of exactly where to begin looking and/or what terminology I should use to Web search the problem.

Could anyone please point me in the right direction?

Can anyone please tell me what's wrong with my pecan?

My pecan started getting brown tips on the leaves at the end of it's growing season the year before last and it's progressed to the emerging spring leaves.

My chicken's cheek lesion, please help.

Hi there, my chicken has a swelling on her cheek and it's causing her some distress can anyone please advise me?

    Shower thoughts are wasting water.

My city is in the middle of the worst drought in recorded history. My showers are typically under 2 minutes and I have to shower with a bucket to catch otherwise wasted water to use to flush the toilet. I also shut the water down when I am wet enough so I can scrub myself without having unneeded water flowing then start it back up to rinse.

    Plus, water is damn expensive!

Who here really has the time to stand, think and waste in the shower?
