  • "Still?"

    Never did. Still don't.

  • I have an instinctual dislike for any candidate that is an enthusiastic religion freak. I also like Crockett a lot. So it seems like my choice would be easy, but it isn't.

Democrats have been getting closer and closer to winning with every Senate election. Republicans used to win by double digits, now they are barely winning by very small margins. Beto O'Rourke probably could have won, if he hadn't stupidly gone on the radio, and arrogantly declared that he would take their guns. In Texas. He might as well have taken one of those guns and shot himself. I wasn't shocked he lost after that, I expected a blow out loss, but I didn't expect how close he would still come.

If Beto could get that close after announcing his gun confiscation dreams, then a proper candidate could probably win it. So in TEXAS, which candidate can realistically flip that seat, the white preacher, or the loud black lady?

Viewed through the lens of the average Texas voter, the choice seems obvious.

  • Just saw another poll yesterday, giving Crockett a double digit lead. You can't trust polls, you have to vote.

  • You grow up, pay attention I'm school, get a college degree, maybe a masters, just so you can make a lot of money as a Professional Turd Polisher.

That should be on their business card.

  • If a man has a woman for a friend, is he really a man?

  • This guy isn't even a billionaire, because his Squatty Potty got knocked off by Chinese competitors immediately.

  • Ive got a friend like that. We were like the closest brothers for a long time, and then I moved far away. We kept in touch for years, but then it fell off when all the MAGA stuff started, and I am almost certain he fell down that well. If I speak to him now, I'll probably have to tell him that we can't be friends anymore, and that's going to hurt, so I've avoided contacting him.

I'm really not sure how to handle it.

  • What else would you call people who are escaping an abusive government to avoid impending danger?

Americans have this deep-seated pride that leads them to believe that "it could never happen here," but I have news for us all, it's already happening, it getting worse every day, and it's going to get far worse than our worst imaginations, if we don't do something serious to stop it.

I have a degree in history, I know EXACTLY where we are headed, and just being American is not going to protect or save us.

  • The difference is that we have entered an era where people are actually creating "romantic relationships" with AI partners, and this guy seems to have fallen down that well.

All they need is some sort of physical connection, and we'll be discussing cybernetic marriage in a couple of years.

  • I hope there are shoot-outs, seems Win-Win to me.

And this administration LOVES lawsuits, it's their hobby.

  • Back in the 70s and 80s, Pintos were EVERYWHERE. It was a cool little car, I had a few over the years. I think every high school or college student at the time owned at least one.

I knew one girl, a fellow college student I dated, whose Pinto was the most rusted out vehicle I've ever traveled in. I was in the passenger seat, and I realized the floor was moving, and she said, "Yeah, don't move that cookie sheet too much, that's the floor." I moved it anyway, and sure enough, there was a 10 inch hole rusted through the floorboards, and I could see the road passing below us.

I had another girlfriend for a long time, who played both tuba and string bass (she weighed 95 pounds), and she figured out how to fit BOTH into her Pinto at the same time. She had to put the back seats down, and the headstock from the bass had to stick out the front passenger window, but she could get them both to gigs in her little Pinto.

  • Cops love to abuse people, and they don't really care who it is. They get in trouble for choosing their own victims, so if they are told that ICE Apes are fair game, they'll happily go abuse ICE Apes.

  • Nearly all my music gear was bought used, at about that level of discount. People buy interesting gear, and never get around to tackling the learning curve, and eventually sell it off super cheap.

If you can be patient, and watch for the exact right gear at the exact right price, and you are focused on performance more than gourmet brand names, you can build a nice home recording studio for super cheap. It took me about two years, but all my gear, and all my instruments, probably didn't cost more than about $1500-2000 total, and most of it is brand new, or nearly so.

  • Experimental Airships are like Experimental Firearms: They're very interesting when you can watch someone else demonstrate them, at a safe distance.

  • I can't wait for city cops to start arresting ICE Apes. Hopefully there's a shoot-out, and every cop in America will instantly hate the ICE Apes.

Eventually they'll just stay in Blue cities in friendly Red states, and just abuse innocent people trapped behind enemy lines, where they can expect no assistance from the authorities.

  • That strategy didn't work out for John Denver. Be careful.

  • Great post, speaks for a lot of us.

  • Who says we don't? Just because we haven't in the past, doesn't mean we can't in the future.

We are in unprecedented territory, and it will require unprecedented solutions. Saying "We've never done that in the past," is no excuse for inaction. MAGA certainly doesn't stand on tradition, they aren't afraid to try something new, so why shouldn't everybody else do the same thing?

  • You make it sound easy, but most countries are going to refuse American political refugees unless they have something substantial to contribute. Why should they allow all these refugees to overwhelm their health care system, housing, etc.?

We're kicking people out of America for those same reasons, why would we think it will be any different for us in other countries?
