  • Who says we don't? Just because we haven't in the past, doesn't mean we can't in the future.

    We are in unprecedented territory, and it will require unprecedented solutions. Saying "We've never done that in the past," is no excuse for inaction. MAGA certainly doesn't stand on tradition, they aren't afraid to try something new, so why shouldn't everybody else do the same thing?

    We're kicking people out of America for those same reasons, why would we think it will be any different for us in other countries?

  • Maybe MAGA will ignore it, but at least you are forcing them to break an actual law, which you can now hold against them. Up until now, we've been expecting them to behave better because it the right thing to do, and they don't care about that, of course.

    Now we can expect them to behave better because it's an actual law that we can punish them with. Mamdani has issued the Executive Order, I assume he is willing to enforce it.

    Just because Dems in the past have done nothing to stop MAGA, doesn't mean the future Democrats are going to be just as cowardly. The new Dems coming into office are angry, determined, and motivated. They are NOT going to behave the same as the cowardly weaklings from the past.

    Once we get past the Midterms, Dems should eliminate the MAGA comedy act of Schmuck & Jeffries, and elect Congressional leaders who WANT to fight for America and it's citizens.

  • I love Crockett, I think she is one of the most effective enemies of MAGA, but this is Texas, and we have to be realistic.

    The Dems have been getting closer and closer with each election, and a Texas seat seems more vulnerable than ever. With the right candidate, it may be possible to finally flip one, but they have to be super strategic. It's just a fact that someone like Talarico is going to have wider appeal to the entire state that a loud black lady.

    This was just the first of several direct attacks on clear Constitutional concepts, which he thought he would brute force his way through with bought-and-paid-for operatives on SCOTUS, and it failed badly. That does not bode well for future Constitutional challenges like Birthright Citizenship, State control of Elections, or his future challenge to term limits.

  • During the Covid Quarantine, I took up the guitar again, after having quit playing decades ago. I was terrible back then, but I've practiced every day, and become pretty good.

    My primary objective was to be able to sit and play my guitar good enough to entertain myself, and I've accomplished it. I can fingerpick about 30 songs start to finish, most with my own arrangements, and about 5 originals that I think are pretty good. I've also become a credible lead guitarist as well. Lately I've been getting into recording.

    Nothing is more satisfying than sitting on the front porch at sunset, looking out over the pond across from my house, and fingerpick through some favorite songs, and work on new ones. By playing the guitar instead of eating, I've lost 100 pounds, and I'm still going. It's also been remarkable for my mental health.

  • I once bought a house with two mature, fruiting pear trees. I learned to quickly pick up any pears that fell to the ground, because if I didn't, the pear juice would ferment under the skin, and become slightly alcoholic.

    Then wasps would pierce the skin, drink the juice, get drunk, and then chase around anyone who entered the yard. Apparently wasps are mean drunks.

  • This is sooo easy, but Liberals are sooo weak. They support, defend, deny, and VOTE FOR people they know are pedophiles. Whether they do it out of stupidity or as willful supporters isn't relevant.

    If you have an active pedophile in your house, and you know they are bringing home children to molest under your roof, and you deny it, support them, make excuses for them, etc. You are aiding and abetting their pedophilia, and you are a pedophile yourself. Maybe you aren't actively molesting them, but you are helping it happen, and maybe THAT'S your perversion. Either way you are part of that world.

    Being stupid doesn't get you off the hook for supporting pedophilia, or every MAGA will just plead ignorance.
