MJ12 Detachment Agent

  • If it does come out, you should post a screenshot shot of this message and your donation receipt in pcgaming.

  • Worth pointing out that Circana does not fully track Steam (only some, albeit large publishers). They don't track GOG or Epic at all (they are of course a lot smaller than Steam).

  • Looks great! Cheers!

I was able to see it on the test server.

  • This looks cool! Thanks for sharing.

  • Did not know about that! Then I could see him being involved.

  • I wonder how much input Carpenter had into this game (beyond providing his name).

That being said I don't doubt that the motifs of the games are inspired by Carpenter's movies, I am just wondering about his level of involvement.

How did they even get Carpenter to partake in this? Sabre Interactive is a recognizable name, but it's no EA.

  • What?

I do know that he provides PR cover for oligarch interests, perhaps in a genuine manner, but the fact remains.

  • Don't be so be ridiculous.

You don't see the link between Cities Skylines II and Fetish Locator: S&M studio?

Have you not tried the San Fernando Valley expansion pack for C:S2?

  • I remember playing this as a kid in 1999. For some I thought it was very hard. I was still pretty young, but while I found Warcraft 2 and StarCraft challenging, I remember them being easier to eventually figure out.

The story/lore also felt more immersive and realistic. Very grim dark and even scary. This might be a controversial opinion, but I always thought that Blizzard's story beats were generally subpar. They excelled in game design, balance and visual art, their writing was never impressive.

  • Consulting, investment banking are examples of industries that would not be a good fit for unionisation.

B2B sales, as a profession, irrespective of the industry in which these sales processes occur is not a good fit for unionisation.

  • I agree that this particular sentence does sound like an LLM, but it's worth pointing out that LLM output does tend to overlap with the style used in marketing copytext (even before LLMs went mainstream).

FWIW, I actually had a short interaction with the dev and he seemed genuine enough. That being said, that doesn't mean they wouldn't use an LLM for at least some of text.

I am just sharing a strategy concept that I found interesting. :)

  • ))

I also wish the Lemmy WebUI would adopt this model, it would make sidebar links so much cleaner and easier to use for new and casual users.

  • For a second I thought you were being serious and I started wondering whether you meant the chemical production industry or the chemical engineering profession...

But then I realized that it would be pretty dull without ions. :)

  • Arguably the professional services industry (e.g. consulting, investment banking) isn't a good fit for unionization. These aren't verticals, but professions, but things like executive management and B2B sales also don't seem like a good fit for unionization.

At the end of the day, in B2B sales all that matters is how much revenue you generate and it's not like there is defined functional skillset for B2B sales that allows for "scale economies" in collective representation model.

  • Indeed. One idea for Tavern Master would be to play as the host (you can organise parties for royalty, knights, explorers etc in the game) in first person mode to accomplish semi-optional progression tasks and gain unlocks.

Instead, it's just a first person view. Nice to check out when you have a new tavern design, but that's about it.

  • I think it's an attempt to create a differentiating feature.

In other games with this feature (e.g. Tavern Master), I used it a couple of times just to check out my Tavern in first person, but that's about it.

Now if there were additional gameplay element built around that, it would be a different story.

  • A very helpful feature! Looking forward for PW to upgrade to 1.4 (I was wondering why the LW link in the post body didn't automatically switch to PW instance/client).

  • Good for them! While I don't think unionization makes sense in all industries, game development is arguably a good fit for a collaborative approach to labour relations.

Complete tangent, but does anyone else find it strange that a gaming news site doesn't use id Software in the headline? If you're into video games, one would think you've heard about id Software; they basically created the modern FPS genre. That being said, I might be showing my age here and id Software was a much bigger deal (on a relative basis) in the 90s and 2000s.
