There aren’t many characters in any universe like Saw Gerrera. That’s been true since the moment he wheezed his way onto the scene in Rogue One, and since he went toe to toe with Luthen Rael in Andor season 1, but it wasn’t until this latest batch of Andor episodes that we really got to see pure, unfiltered Saw. And thank god for that.
[Ed. note: This post contains spoilers for Andor season 2’s second arc, which is episodes 4-6.]
As with every Andor arc, there’s a whole lot going on in episodes 4, 5, a
Videogames are...good?! It's more likely than you think, says Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 actor Andy Serkis.
Ah, well thank heck for that. I thought I'd spent my weekend hunched over a screen in a goblinesque sweat-trance. No! Says Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 voice actor Andy Serkis: I was simply partaking in some vital culture; a veritable Wildean sophisticate. Film industry folks thought games were "not an art form in any stretch," Serkis told Game Watcher, "and gradually it's taken over the film industry, which could not exist without it." Take that, Roger Ebert's dead wrong dead horse of a dead body.
“I wouldn’t have called myself a gamer at all,” said the Lord Of The Rings actor, who also worked on Enslaved: Odyssey to the West with Alex Garland. "But I was always very interested in next generation storytelling. Around 2004, when we made Heavenly Sword, I started our performance capture studio with a view to create immersive stories outside of traditional 2D experiences, like cinema or television.”
"There used to be a terrible snobbery from the film industry with [videogames] b

I'm reposting this because it wasn't in the right format. Hopefully this meets the rules of /r/Games this time.
I was absolutely shocked to see this video pop up on my feed. Sponsored content can be ok sometimes, but this a straight-up ad with no DF content to speak of. It's also for add-ons that are somewhat controversial in nature, being that they cost money for what are largely performance patches.
I really dislike getting any kind of ads, and I do my best to avoid them. Seeing one pop up like that will definitely lower my opinion of Digital Foundry. This video does

Falling in love with a fictional character is not abnormal. Neither by societal standards based on just how many people do and by psychological standards. It is a normal thing we sometimes do as humans; become attached to someone who doesn’t really exist. Let’s take a journey into the mountain of psychological research and real life pandemonium of fictophilia.

So there’s this guy who’s done some directing in his days, stop me if you’ve heard his name before: Hideaki Anno. Famously, he directed the 1995 series Neon Genesis Evangelion and forever entrenched his name in the history of the anime medium. There’s plenty of good reasons for it to be his most famous work, but it’s far from the only thing he ever made. Gunbuster, Kare Kano, RE:Cutie Honey, and of course, Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water. Each of them have echoed through history in their own way, and all that I’ve watched so far have endlessly echoed through my own mind with no sign of stopping. Put simply, he’s my favourite director, and though he’s no
The Bloodrayne trilogy - it starts off bad, and then gets worse!
Bloodrayne was originally a series of video games about a half-human half-vampire dhampir named Rayne. She works for the Brimstone Society and fights against evil vampires. I'll make a post later about the Bloodrayne series of video games though since that's a different discussion. For now, let's talk about the movies.
All three movies were directed by Uwe Boll, which gives you an idea of the quality (he's never made a good movie). And the first movie was the only one to actually be released in theaters. It was also the only one to have a relatively recognizable cast. Both Bloodrayne 2 and Bloodrayne 3 had different actresses play Rayne. It's always a good sign when you have to recast the main character in each movie...
Anyway, the first movie takes place in the 18th century with Rayne trying to track down the vampire ruler who is her father. This is by far the most watchable movie in the trilogy. The second movie takes place in th

The three-pointer may be the most powerful explanatory variable in the equation of how modern basketball games are won, but it’s hardly the only thing that matters — just ask Denver, who shot a pathetic 31% from deep for the series but still emerged victorious against a feisty Lakers team. If you’re sick of hearing about three-point variance, this is the article for you!
There are plenty of other reasons why things are the way they are, but these are the ones I thought were interesting to discuss. Let’s dive into what’s happened so far.
[As always, I've collected a bunch of illustrative video clips and GIFs for the points I make in this post. [You can find them here](https://www.basketb

Despite the fact that Avatar Frontiers of Pandora manages to captivate the player from the very first minute with its masterfully designed world, it misses its great potential by having serious shortcomings within itself.

Community Update
Hello! Your friendly mod PassingDuchy again with a few community updates!
Reddit and Discord Hobby Drama communities
I did reach out to both communities. The response from both is that they're not interested in affiliating. As such we won't be linking to either community in the sidebar to respect their wishes. Going forward please don't send either community messages about partnering with this community (though I appreciate everyone who did! It was a big help).
Reposting
Based on the previous discussion post we will be encouraging an opt-out request be sent to authors, but not requiring. The only requirement currently is that the full text is reposted and a link to the original post is included at the top or bottom of the repost.
14 Day Rule
The 14 day rule for all drama being concluded (outside of Round Up) will remain instituted.

I am very hurt by how I was treated a few days ago. (effort post)
I tried to send an appeal message in my application as a response to being banned, but I don't even know if they ever get read. My original account's application probably wasn't even read at all, which caused trouble for me later on. Here's what I said after I got home and saw what was done:

"I couldn't find any avenues to appeal my ban, so this is all I have. First of all, I just want to say that I'm genuinely hurt. I created my account over 5 months ago after following the site as a lurker for over a year now. I specifically said in my account's creation that I was unsure which communities I would be participating in, and that I just wanted an account to have the option to help out and contribute when my mental health makes it possible.
After 5 months of my mental health being in the trenches, I finally worked up the courage to start participating and contributing very important content that had absolutely nothing hostile to the mission of Marxism-
That Time EA Accidentally Implemented Sexual Assault as a Gameplay Feature in the Sims 4

Content warning: discussion of sexual assault for procreation purposes in the Sims 4
Friendly Introduction
Ah, The Sims, the virtual dollhouse game franchise that has no competitors and keeps churning out content and drama with no end in sight. The game where for over two decades people have been murdering their Sims by drowning or starving them. You know the one.
The Sims 4 drama often revolves around the release of new packs with broken or unsatisfying features like the Wedding Pack that failed to deliver on its promise to have guests sit down and watch the wedding. Additionally, there’s a huge modding scene creating anything from script mods to cosmetic items that isn’t exactly drama-free. The pro-paywall and ant
Lemmygrad is more than just a knock-off subreddit replacement. Let's actively leverage Lemmy's federative structure in our favor!

Right now, the bulk of the activity on Lemmygrad is happening in one community: lemmygrad.ml/c/genzedong. This is expected and completely normal. We are in the immediate aftermath of a mass exodus away from one of the last large, explicit bastions of anti-imperialism and communism on Reddit, and in our haste to settle we have made and populated /c/genzedong, and, in doing so, recreated the home we were familiar with: an all-purpose hub designed to be a seat of ML engagement. However, while familiar, many unfavorable structural features forced upon us by merely existing on Reddit have carried over with us. We became desensitized to the less-than-ideal compromises we made to have a presence on Reddit, and, now that we have stepped outside into greener pastures, our eyes have not quite adjusted to the new opportuniti
