Should we do a banner contest?

We've been thinking about changing the banner for some time now, but we were unsure whether to use an existing banner from the subreddit (the one we're currently using is from a previous banner contest there) or to hold a contest to truly differentiate ourselves from the Reddit sub.

So, we decided it was best to put it to a poll. If any of you have artistic skills and are willing to create a banner, please comment below so we know. If more than one person is interested, we'll hold a banner contest. If no one is available, we'll instead hold a contest using banners that didn't win their previous contest (with proper credit, of course).

Please note that you don’t need to be an artist to enter—we also accept banners made with Photoshop, GIMPed?, KRITAd?, or any other editing software!

The deadline is until the end of the month for commenting if you are participating in the contest.

A 10 min survey on Mastodon usage by a masters student working on ways to make Mastodon more active.

I'm not said student, found this /r/Mastodon. Sharing here since I think it would be good supporting research on this. Shortened description from the info page:

This project is part of a Master Thesis that aims to explore the factors that influence user activity on Mastodon and their role in sustaining decentralized networks. ... Ultimately, this research seeks to contribute to the future development of decentralized social networks by identifying key factors that support user activity, offering valuable insights for administrators and moderators in maintaining active and sustainable communities.

Hello fellow SV fans. Every year I give away 1 Steam key for Stardew Valley to a random person. Please don't post offensive, racist, trans- or homophobic jokes.

The key can be redeemed globally on Steam (PC).

Giving away TorrentLeech invites. Not selling or trading, they're just yours

Hi. Following on from my previous giveaway last month, I now have FOUR TorrentLeech invites that I'm just giving away. No bullshit, just say you want it and it might be yours.

My IRL friends wouldn't have a clue what to do with these so I'm just giving them away again.

I'll probably leave this up for 24hrs or so and then, as before, choose four people at random. Good luck :)

EDIT: I closed this early due to the crazy amount of responses. I took the number of responses (160!) and ran it through an RNG 4 times to make this fair. Congratulations to @[email protected] @[email protected] @[email protected] and @[email protected]
