I’ve been designing iOS apps since the days of skeuomorphism - iOS 6 was where it all started for me. Ever since, I’ve been fascinated by the idea of building tools that don’t just look great, but actually help people live better lives.
But when it came to working on my own goals, nothing really worked. I had long-term goals in one place, habits in another, and daily tasks in a third - and no real sense of how it all connected. It felt unnecessarily complex. I wanted one tool that brought it all together.

Razer has finally launched its platform for streaming PC games to mobile devices at their native screen resolutions, aspect ratios, and refresh rates. Razer PC Remote Play is now available for download on the App Store and Google Play and is compatible with Windows, Apple, and Android
I spent the last two months building a video compression app called Kompresso because I couldn’t find a decent video compressor that takes full advantage of iPhone’s hardware capabilities.
What’s the problem with the existing video compression apps?
Most video compressors on mobile platforms try to target both Android and iOS. While this approach helps them reach a wider audience, it often leads to same drawbacks:
Slow encoding
Poor video quality
Heavily bloated apps
In contrast, Kompresso is a fully native iOS app that uses Apple’s media APIs for both decoding and encoding videos. No third-party media libraries, no unnecessary overhead.
It seems like the versioning on the GitHub page is getting further and further away from the releases on the Apple Store. Right now it shows version 2.0.1 in the Apple Store, but the latest release posted on the GitHub is 1.3, dated May of 2024.
Apologies in advance if I missed an announcement that explains this.
The following is a directory of current Lemmy apps. This list includes apps that have released in the last 6 months, or have been confirmed to be in active development, with the most recent at the top. You can find a list including older apps here (unmaintained apps may have security or compatibility issues). The ![open source][1] symbol indicates that an app is FOSS.
I'm making this post to share some interesting less talked about things about privacy, security, and other related topics. This post has no direct goal, it's just an interesting thing to read. Anyways, here we go:
I made a post about secureblue, which is a Linux distro (I'll talk about the technicality later) designed to be as secure as possible without compromising too much usability. I really like the developers, they're one of the nicest, most responsible developers I've seen. I make a lot of bug reports on a wide variety of projects, so they deserve the recognition.
Anyways, secureblue is a lesser known distro with a growing community. It's a good contrast to the more well known alternative Qubes OS, which is not very user friendly at all.
Neither secureblue, nor Qubes OS are "distros" in the classical sense. secureblue modifies and hardens various [Fedora Atomic](https://fedo
Let's be honest, most unit and currency converters are... well, they're not exactly winning any design awards, are they? And don't even get me started on the ads and confusing interfaces! 😩
Back in 2018, I had enough. "There HAS to be a better way!" I thought. So, fueled by caffeine and a healthy dose of frustration, I started building Converter NOW.
Fast forward to today, and I'm stoked to announce Converter NOW v4.3.0 is finally here! 🎉
Built with Flutter (back when it was still in beta, talk about trusting the future! 😉), Converter NOW is designed to be beautiful, fast, and completely free and open-source. No ads, no tracking,

A few years ago, I decided to take up running and wanted to leave my phone at home and just run with my Apple Watch. When I couldn’t find an app that suited my needs, I decided to build one myself. I shared the app here at launch and received incredible feedback.
2024 was a big year for the app – it expanded with a 5 to 10K plan and was even nominated for Apple Watch App of the Year! (It didn’t win, but being recognised alongside amazing apps like Kino and Lumy was such an honour.)
If you haven’t come across Watch to 5K before, here’s what it offers:
A little over a year ago, I launched Sink It here on this subreddit as a free, minimal Safari extension to make reddit more usable. Over the months, it has grown into a lite client of sorts if you're just looking for a clean, usable, and nag free way to use reddit on your browser.
You can get it on the App Store for iOS, iPadOS and MacOS. You can also find Chrome and Firefox versions on our site.

A few years ago, I released Watch to 5K, a standalone Apple Watch app designed to help people get into running by training towards a 5KM goal with just their Apple Watch. Since its initial release, I’ve worked on numerous updates, including the addition of an iPhone companion app for tracking overall progress and viewing completed runs, and a complete re-write in SwiftUI.
This year, my focus has been on expanding the app to meet the needs of those ready to push beyond the 5K mark. Earlier this week, I released version 6, which includes a new 5 to 10K Expansion plan.
I'm a single bachelor who's out of work. What should I do? Right! Spend money on retrofitting my smart home!
But I don't have any, and neither do I have a job... I'll find the cheapest option on Ali!
I'm a man. Why spend a lot of money on curtains? Why do I even need automatically opening curtains in my bedroom if they're always closed? Right! I'll make myself a solar alarm clock. That sounds like a good reason to spend money.
(If you read this far, thank you and excuse my English. I'm used to making jokes in my reviews, but I don't know English well and it might look weird.)
[I wanted to open and close the air conditioner, as well as the curtains.
