I wanted to provide the community with a quick status update on the development of Echo. This is the longest stretch without an update since Echo was released. This is mostly because I'm currently working on roughly 6+ major new features for Echo that are all in varying stages of completion. (Also because this past week my computer was being repaired, so that took away from being able to work on Echo).
I hope to wrap up at least 1 of these features and get that shipped hopefully this coming week.
Overtime I do anticipate release frequency to slow down. But as part of my goal to build the best Lemmy client for iOS, releases will still occur will regular frequency.
Thank you to everyone who has downloaded the app so far. And to everyone who has given feedback, I really appreciate it. All of your feedback has been heard, and I'm actively working to implement most of it into the application. Stay tuned!

Pretty minor Echo update just released. Much improved error handling and fixes a rare crash. Still more work to do on error handling, but making progress there.
Aiming for the next update to include some major new features.
Edit: bug spotted- swipe to upvote forces a page refresh & jump to top. Otherwise, The update that came out today is pretty slick! Excellent progress! Thank you for your work on this.

Powerful search experience to find the content you're looking for.

Fully native application with dark mode support & accessibility features.
Echo for Lemmy needs to connect to a Lemmy server to function. These servers are Lemmy servers that are responsible for hosting your account, content, and more. Think of your server similar to your email provider (ex. Gmail, Yahoo, iCloud, etc.).
Some servers are private meaning that you must get manual approval from the server admins in order to join. Other servers are fully public and you can join without any approval.
What to look for when choosing a server?
When choosing a server, you should consider the following:
Reliability: You want to choose a server that is reliable and has a good uptime. This will ensure that you can access your account and content whenever you need to. Server admins are under no obligation to keep their servers online, so it's important to choose a server that is reliable.
Moderation: Each server has its own rules and guidelines when it comes to content moderation. Some servers are more strict, while others are more lenient.
I'm extremely excited to announce Echo for Lemmy. This is a project I've dedicated all of my free time to for the past little bit, and it has come such a long way. Although there is still a lot of work to do, I'm excited to share this alpha version and get feedback from the community.
Key Features:
Intuitive, beautiful design
Timeline that provides key information about posts
Upvote, downvote, and comment on posts just by swiping
