Cannot upload image for avatar

When I try to upload an image for my avatar, I get an error saying that my account is too new to upload images. What are the conditions to not be a new account?

EDIT: From the site rules:

Image uploads are enabled 4 weeks after account creation

2FA Issues

Hi, I’ve got an issue with 2FA. I got logged out on my desktop PC and when I try to log back in, the 2FA code that I have doesn’t work. I’m still logged in on my phone but I’m no sure how to proceed from here?

SOLVED: My desktop machine was looking for a NTP server that was no longer responding. Changed to a working NTP server and all is well. I had drifted 66 seconds back since 9 Sept 2024.

Still major problems here with image insertions. Is it a 0.19.7 issue or .ee issue, perhaps?

Now, from what I understand, a recent Lemmy software update broke the ability for Imgur posts to serve as lead-examples. Since then, I've been forcing the lead image on to local servers. Fine, whatever.

Just tell me what to do, and I'll do it.

But now, checking some of my earlier posts, I also see this problem in the body of my posts, in which Imgur content isn't appearing either:

EDIT: Okay, I totally forgot that for a few months there, Lemmy was auto-formatting image links in to 'proxy' versions. So when I go back and manually remove that formatting (didn't used to be able to do so when it was active), the posts are no longer broken.

Really wish this could have been handled more smoothly by the devs, tho. 😞

EDIT2: removed some non-essential rubbish.

Hi, not sure if this is the right place to ask. But I noticed [email protected] only has one mod and they appear to be inactive. I can help mod it (rather than have it shut down). Thanks.

I've looked through the history of threads in this help community, but didn't see this Q come up before.

I also notice someone saying on another instance that as a mod, it's indeed possible to pin by clicking the three dots under the thread / post. I even see an open github issue discussing cross-instance problems with pinning posts.

Still, here on this instance, it doesn't currently seem possible to pin in either of my two communities. If it were, I'd want to pin this welcoming post, for example.

EDIT: Thanks to @[email protected] for the solution-- it's as simple as going in to a thread, clicking the "three dots" in options, then clicking again "community" with the little pin symbol.

High ping from Spain?

Hello,

I enjoy this instance a lot, thank you so much for this. However, I noticed it is quite slower than other instances I'm used to. I had a look at that ping tool, and it seems that the ping to Spain is unusually high compared to the rest of Europe: https://check-host.net/check-ping?host=lemm.ee

Is there anything you could do to improve this? Thank you so much!

Like the title already mentioned, when I try to login in the liftoff app, the app is unable to finde this instance (lemm.ee) and additionally mentions that kbin instances are not supported yet

Can't find and subscribe to 82 communities

[Solution] What helped the most: Searching for full external URL. Don't search for 'Communities', search for 'All'. Example URL: https://instance.com/c/communityname Search for this, wait a couple of seconds, search again.

Hello, I just registered on lemm.ee today and tried to import my subscriptions. I know these communities exist, but they don't show up when I'm trying to visit them through lemm.ee.

Some examples:

lemm.ee is federated with all of them. I also checked the
