So, my doctor starts me out on the non-stimulant medications, even though they're known to be less effective, because the stimulants are so tightly controlled. It's ass-backwards. I feel like crap and my symptoms are marginally better.

It could still be heavily regulated if they sold it to everybody. You'd only have to worry if you were buying it on the black market, but that's true in any case.

Methamphetamines used to be legal, and they were advertised that way: take this pill, get more energy, and stay alert and focused at work. If I had to guess, I'd say they became illegal once people started overdosing. I'm not defending it, but I think it's interesting that you used to be able to buy it over the counter and now you can't anymore. Same thing with cocaine, actually, and I'm sure that's the same problem. People get addicted, use too much, and die.

Yeah, whenever I hear people complaining about ads, I'm like "You guys are seeing ads?!"

I could understand if you needed to be some 1337 hacker to block ads, but uBlock is one of the easiest extensions I've ever used. You just set it and forget it. There's zero configuration you need to do.

Of course, if there's some ad that slips past, then you need to do some hacking, but that almost never happens nowadays.

There needs to be more citizen lobbying. What really needs to happen is citizens organizing, pooling their money, and hiring lobbyists, just like big corporations do.

I don't see how this attempt to speed-run a dictatorship is going to work well for them. You're supposed to turn up the heat slowly, so the frog doesn't notice that they're boiling until it's too late.
