- Higher paying jobs exist and are available to them
- They can afford to not work until they land one of these jobs.
The first only works if there is a strong economy and employers are not cooperating to set a low âmarket priceâ which they have a strong incentive to do
The second only works if there is again a strong economy allowing for savings AND a strong social safety net / welfare system giving the freedom to not make a desperate choice of employment
