  • I do think it's bad, but it outlines a problem with walking infrastructure. In many places, you really can't get anywhere by walking. For example, a friend and I had to take a quick trip up the road and on the way realized that we should add a stop to our trip to get two things done at once. Place A and Place B are very close to one another, but we could not walk from one to another because there was no walking path, and there were bushes and ditches blocking the only way. We weren't going to go around those and into 50-60 mph traffic on foot. So we drove. Left the one parking lot by car and went into the second parking lot. The entire trip we may be got 50 total steps.

  • I'm floundering trying to find something that holds my attention so I can stop doon scrolling🤣

I was reading The Grace of Kings, Dandelion Dynasty Book 1 but I've put it down for a few weeks now. My attention span just isn't ready for this right now. Its a cool sounding story, I might try again soon.

The Adventure Zone - Graduation is a DnD live play podcast from the McElroy family. I like their goofs. It was probably 2020 when I last listened to one of their story Arcs. If you Google reviews, a lot of people are kinda hard on this one, but im enjoying it enough.

I'm trying to replace doom scrolling with doom listening, so I can walk and get in some cardio so I'm ready for the apocalypse.

    • Some More News: digestible news and funny
    • The Man Who Calculated Death: long form investigation podcast on Robert Lusser put together by his descendents grappling with their family's history. Very "Serial" vibes.

  • So, I missed an entire era of pop, then within the past couple of years discovered this song. I like the intro, and would get really into it then hear this and be like .... Um, no? Not really? ..... And it just ruined it right off.

  • Courthouse weddings are a thing, and not expensive. That covers the legal part, and doesn't require any fancy lawyer stuff like whatever wills or trusts you're thinking about. Not like we have any real assets anyway. Rings are not required, but you also don't need to spend a ton on them if you do want them.

  • Lol, you got lots of down votes friend, but I too appreciate the number 8. It's nice and it's twice my favorite number.

Poor kid will never get an un-birthday though. 😭

Anyway, happy un-birthday to YOU! 🫵 AND You! 👉

    immich question

Looking to switch my photos over to immich hosted on my PC. I want to be able to:

    • send photos from my phone to PC
    • delete them off of my phone and have them safe on my PC
    • I don't need to do this all the time, so I figured immich on my local network is fine. Then I don't have to figure out wireguard.

However, right now I have free VPN on my phone. I can't access immich, but I suppose this is why. I also believe that if I have VPN features that allow me to select which apps use VPN and which do not, I could route immich to ignore the VPN, and I would be able to see it on my local network.

Am I on the right track?
