  • I'm not sure if "strongest currency" is a good wording here because the absolute exchange rate has nothing to do with how strong a currency is. It's the relative exchange rate (what was the exchange rate last year and what is it know) that would be a better fit to gauge how "strong" a currency is.

  • ich🖥iel

  • Erschließt sich mir nicht ganz diese Logik. Hättest auch gleich selbst ein Logo für den CCC erfinden können mit der Begründung, dass es besser in die Vorlage passt.

  • Look at his arm. Unless all the videos of that guy are fake (even during a time where making a convincing video fakes was really hard). That arm is not going down even if he wanted.

  • First, FundMECFS is right, sounds like nasal cycle. Second: A natural way to have a completely free nose for about a minute is probably an orgasm 🤣 not kidding, try to take deep breaths through your nose next time.

  • JPEG does not support lossless compression. There was an extension to the standard in 1993 but most de/encoders don't implement that and it never took off. With JPEG XL you get more bang for your buck and the same visual quality will get you a smaller file. There would be no more need for thumbnails because of improved progressive decoding.

Why a kilobyte is 1000 and not 1024 bytes

I often find myself explaining the same things in real life and online, so I recently started writing technical blog posts.

This one is about why it was a mistake to call 1024 bytes a kilobyte. It's about a 20min read so thank you very much in advance if you find the time to read it.

Feedback is very much welcome. Thank you.
