  • I suspect that's something that would need to be brought up either with the developers of the specific program that handles keyboard inputs or languages, if it cannot be changed in general. Or with the individual Desktop Environment projects that create the GUIs to change the underlying settings, if that setting just is not exposed graphically. Unfortunately I don't know what those would be, but maybe it can help point into a more precise direction for further research. I doubt that it is an issue that goes as deep as the Linux kernel being involved. (Take it with a grain of salt though, I'm mostly speculating.)

Edit: in a quick search I found this thread with a possible solution: https://forum.manjaro.org/t/trying-to-change-dead-key-behaviour-im-stumped/85029

  • You could use a Samsung Tablet with Dex that supports the Samsung pen, and connect a portable monitor to it. There are decent portable monitors under $100, certainly enough for watching lectures. The two displays wouldn't be connected by a hinge but by a usb C cable. In return the display sizes and orientations wouldn't have to be the same. If the portable monitor doesn't support touch, I recommend throwing a bluetooth mouse into the mix to make navigation easier.

Edit: I could also confirm it working with an iPad (Air, M1) and said portable display. But iOS forces you to connect a bluetooth mouse and keyboard to be able to extend the display instead of mirroring it.

  • To play devils advocate here, a bad translation of the post might interpret the first half of the sentence as "they should keep murdering you" instead of "even if they keep murdering you". But it's Facebook, so they could also just be on the fascists' side.

  • Part of the problem is people acting like all that stuff is ancient history and not relevant anymore. Yet almost all violent problems around the world still are directly or indirectly caused by european colonialism that destroyed societies and meddling by so-called "western" states, who felt entitled to rule over everyone they defined as "uncivilized". On top of that these "western" states still use their influence to enrich themselves on the backs of peoples of "third world" countries and calling it "global free trade" or "spreading democracy". If all of that isn't acknowledged and actively counteracted, humanity won't ever get over this shit.

  • It is especially meritless to equate people who claim the land based on other people sharing their religion having lived there a thousand years ago, with people whose grandparents got kicked out of their houses and who've had to live in an open air prison ever since while being subjected to regular attempts at ethnic cleansing.

  • They could possibly implement optional gyro controls on any platform but Xbox. It doesn't necessarily have to have the same kind of painting mechanic either, but it would give up a large part of its uniqueness if it didn't.

  • It is about the size of a Miyoo Mini Plus and looks to have the performance of a Miyoo Mini Plus. Probably will lack the software maturity of the Miyoo Mini Plus for a while. Not as exciting as the headline of the article tries to make it sound.
