  • humor is subjective, point is subjective

  • revanced extended patched rif, so i still use it

  • lemm.ee just got faster! (infra upgrades)

  • It is a federation thing. Newly federated communities don't load comments with their initial import. You'll start to see comments as you go.

  • I'm an individualist. But not ideologically. I don't mind if people organize however they want. I'm just gonna do whatever I'm gonna do and I don't care if people prop up free healthcare, empires or communes around me as long as they let me do whatever I'm doing. If they do interfere I'll just stand on the opposite ideology and pretend to be against them ideologically. I don't even mind if they make laws against me, as long as they're not enforcing them, because I can just be against the enforcement.

  • In a sense you're right. But it doesn't necessarily mean it's the "same". If you have r/videos and c/videos, it's be ridiculous to think that the one on reddit is official and then one on Lemmy is a temporary copy waiting for immigrants. Sure, if you have no activity and people refuse to use it and it's a very specific niche thing, maybe you could argue that. But I'd say that most of the time, the communities here on Lemmy and on kbin are just as valid, just as true, and are their own entities independently of whether the users from the "originals" migrate en masse to them.

For example. I mod a music genre community. I just post music I like. If anyone joins that's great. I don't care.

  • I hadn't even seen that! 😭

  • I am trained in nonstop content generation for steemit.com and Hive.io where being a spammer was the key to success. I would post 100 comments a day and 1 post a day because that was the maximum amount of posts per day. Now on Lemmy it seems my spammy instinct came out and I comment and post dozens of times a day on multiple accounts. 🤐

  • I make a content box and ration it out for good measure.

  • Yes. That's why good literature and good philosophy community. It helps think and read. Also music community for what I listen to. Collaborative playlist hopefully. 🎶👌

  • I don't even use VPNs for torrenting lol. I use them only for either geoblocking or scrambling my IP address for practical clearnet purposes such as signing up multiple accounts. Torrenting is not prosecuted or even mentioned in my country. The only issue I could have is my ISP not liking my download volume and throttling for a short period of time to counteract my "abuse" of the network.

  • The official term is "community", actually.
