I wouldn't do that. It sounds like a full time job, of which I assume you already have. To me it would feel weird, like a power imbalance.
What happens when you don't have time or energy to complete your tasks. Will he kick you out? Is your name on the lease?
Organising clothes and belongings is something I'd only do for family.
But, you know your roommate best, so do what you feel is right.
Maybe you can do a one month trial run?

Sounds like Rakuten!

Worryingly, examination of those recently deceased has found high levels of dihydrogen monoxide in their bodies, leading scientists to ponder whether every person who knowingly or unknowingly consumes this chemical will actually one day die.

Here in Japan, travel agents are still around. The brick and mortar ones have actually branched out to offer their services online, too.
I assume they mostly survive on people who want to book a package tour, which are insanely popular here.
Some of them will now charge a consultation fee whether you buy something or not, so you can see how the industry is hurting.
Although I'm not a boomer, I did use one last year as they are great for just showing you all the options in a very clear way. With just an hour to spare to book a family trip, it was the way to go (for me at least).
I do think that next time I will use them to consult, but then book online to avoid their fee. Also, it seems that booking though the agent makes the ticket less flexible (the airline will lock out some parts of their website and tell you to have the agent do the thing which you wanted to)
So, yeah, it'll be just like shopping. Go to the store to look and get info, then buy online to save money.

It would except for the fact that shoe sizes here, from babies to adults are only sized in centimetres. If there are international sizes printed on the shoes, they have no meaning to residents in Japan. Check the tag inside your shoes; If they have international sizes printed on them, you'll see Japan's is in centimetres, and may have EE (or more Es) next to it to denote width. If there is nothing, then they are standard width.
Children's clothing is also sized in centimetres. Makes things really simple.
Any truly free options for converting Outlook PST files to MBOX (or something else) without Outlook?

No trash cans in the parks around here. Train stations tend to only have trash cans on the platforms, not inside the station (just my experience, not definitive). You just learn to carry your trash with you until you find somewhere to dispose of it. I don't see the big deal. If you do buy something from a street vendor say in a park or at a festival, they will provide a way to dispose of it. Also, it is not so common to eat whilst walking, so it reduces the problem considerably.

Hey be careful there. The heat may also melt the glue holding all the panels together lol

Bundle, flipboard, NHK News
YSK: Use ‘a’ when the word starts with a consonant sound, and ‘an’ when it starts with a vowel sound

University would have been a better example.

Silly question, but have you already set up family sharing? Are you able to access other services included in the subscription!

Font size randomly changes
I have my font size set to S. After the recent updates (including the latest one today), the font size seems irregular unless it is set to system size. Toggling system size on then off temporarily fixes the problem. But the next time the app launched (after it has been killed), the problem returns. Attached are screenshots of before and after toggling.
Again thank you for all the awesome work.

It finally lets you select the display language! Hurray! Scrolling is still choppy AF though. It's basically the same as the mobile app, which isn't saying much.

I haven't had this since I was a kid, but I used to take two pieces of toast, put Nutella on one slice, and margarine and Vegemite on the other… and then sandwich them together and chow down. Sweet and savory and umami all at the same time. Don't know if I would do that these days, though.

Same, but in Japan.

Internal sensor for tire pressure monitoring system? Was looking at some last night lol

They mean the weekly sales start on Wednesday and run until the following Tuesday. The next day (Wednesday) a different set of products will go on sale for a week.

That would be great to be honest. I have many shopping lists in reminders named as the stores which I frequent, with one catch all called “shopping” they are in a group called “shopping” because of course they are. Until recently adding reminders worked like “Siri add xyz to my shopping list”. But now Siri pops up saying “do you mean shopping, or shopping?” And clicking either option results in an error that the app needs to be opened. How fucking stupid can it be? One isn’t even a list! Works fine from my Apple Watch though. Changed the category to “to buy” because fuck me, right?

I just upvoted you by purpose. There. Sounds weird, right?

As someone who also grew up in the commonwealth, I can’t remember ever hearing anyone say “on accident”. And it seems that “on accident” is grammatically wrong (not that we all have to speak with perfect grammar, but just pointing it out). I’m sure I’ll get downvoted for this but whatever. “On accident” also grated at me lol.

iOS 17.5 Attention Aware bug
Has anyone else noticed that alarms and timers don’t reduce in volume if you are using the device, or when you pick up the device and it recognises you with Face ID anymore?
It’s really annoying to get a full volume alarm when you’re using the device.
iPhone 13 if it matters. Toggled attention aware on and off and also restarted the phone without luck.

Not remembering default feed
I’ve got a bug that I haven’t been able to pin down. Set the default feed to subscriptions but sometimes upon launch (after killing the app) it is set to all. I haven’t been able to figure out what is causing it as it seems random. Has anyone else noticed this?

Fonts are odd sizes, missing sort by new

Thanks for the awesome update just now. I’m sorry, I haven’t gotten around to figuring out how to use GitHub. I hope this will get seen.
When not using the system font size, some parts are rendered in an odd size compared to before.
Also, I can’t find the sort by new option anymore.
Also, long post titles are making the compact view less compact (maybe due to the font issue).
On an unrelated note, my .world account still cannot enable notifications but my other ones can. It just hangs on the spinning progress wheel. I am not sure how to go about fixing it anymore.
I really appreciate all you have done. Also, there was no reason to apologise for taking a hiatus. This should be a project of passion not a job.
I hope I have not come across as demanding. I am loving what you guys are doing.
I’ll try to learn GitHub so I can post bugs in your preferred manner.
Thank again!

loading a post with no comments shows your last comment while loading
When you open a new post which doesn’t contain any comments, you latest comment from whatever post is displayed ever so briefly before the “no comments” message is shown. I managed to screen record it but I’m not sure how to attach a video.

changing passwords on one account logged me out of all accounts
In an attempt to fix the push notifications not working, I changed the password for one account via safari. Upon opening the app again it said all of my session tokens were invalid.
Not a big deal but kind of funny since the server instances were different.

Push notifications not working after lemmy.world hack
After chaos has been restored, I “deleted” my account from Memmy (would be better to be called remove in my opinion), and the readded my account. The push notification toggle automatically is set to on (as it was before deleting), but notifications don’t come through.
So, I tried to disable push notifications in order to reenable them. However, the progress circle spins forever and it seems like it cannot be done.

YSK: Safari extensions on iOS let you redirect reddit urls to an alternative
Why YSK: Google returns reddit results very often when searching, which many of us want to avoid clicking, to avoid sending traffic to reddit.
I’ve seen many posts on how to avoid sending traffic to reddit for android users, but nothing for iOS.
Now, most of the options I’ve found are not free, but I had already bought StopTheMadness before. You can simply add a rule to redirect reddit.com to teddit.net. Then, you can still click those google results without hesitation.
It should be noted this won’t work system wide in safari web view, only in the safari app.
