  • Planetes (ΠΛΆΝΗΤΕΣ). A really great science fiction anime by the creator of Cowboy Bebop. Pretty realistic as far as the "science" in science-fiction goes. A bit slow to start, but really touching.

  • She served in the Israeli occupation forces. Would you watch a movie with a Russian actor who served in the military?

Most people? Unless said actor is actively militant in favour of Russia government, individuals are not responsible for their contry's crimes.

But Gal Gadot actively militates in favour of Israel and it's military.

  • Because I like freedom to park almost anywhere and outdoors. I also don't like being a danger for everyone around me.

  • That includes getting rid of industrial secrets, NDAs and exclusivity contracts right? Right?

Otherwise it's just about the rich being able exploit intellectual work of the poor.

  • These platforms have incentives to keep you on the platform. So their recommendation algos will purposefully down rank stuff that tries to convert to elsewhere.

  • She has set up her own website. She has been exploring alternatives for years, she is on Mastodon, Peertube etc...

You're having a meltdown because an artist is sharing whats's happening in her life. Guess what, tons of people love that. You're insulting someone you don't now shit about because shares update on her work situation... With the people that pay for her work?

You're the one that needs to touch grass.

  • Indeed. She doesn't talk about alternatives in this video, she hasn't made other videos talking about alternatives, hasn't setup her own website etc....

I'm not sure how she could pay her bills of she didn't have advice from randos on the internet...

  • No it's not. He was replying to a guy named differently:

I think the Right needs to start funding more artists, filmmakers and writers instead of politicians and super-PACs.

You don't win a naval war without any ships, and you can't win a culture war without any culture.

We've been reacting too long. Time to go on the offensive.

But unsurprisingly he's fine with letting a user with that superhitler1488 actually exist on twitter.

  • uBlock origin is not even available on chrome anymore.

  • She's not going to prison. Just electronic bracelet. And that's assuming appeals don't work.

  • Car dealerships are fair game I don't care what happens to cars there. But an individual's car, I wouldn't go beyond leaving notes on the windshield, otherwise you're just making people angry for no good reason. Before 2020 a lot of people may have bought a Tesla and while Musk was always fishy, at the time it wasn't any worse than most other car companies. And not everyone can "just sell" their cars. Cybertrucks though... These are actively dangerous and disabling them is a matter of public safety 😝

  • Does portal 2 coop count? Technically it's a FPS

  • Drawing a line on a map and saying Jews go this side and Muslims go this side is still racist as fuck.

  • While macrons a more stable person than Trump or Lepen, he has almost as little respect for democracy and for the truth as them. And anyways in 2 years he's gone with significant odds that Lepen or Bardella get elected...

  • Since we cannot verify the software they run on the server is the software that is open source then we must assume it is not.

But that's like, the case for pretty much every messenger out there, outside of self-hosting, which will not be done by 99.99% of the general population.

  • This comparison makes some questionnable choices. It puts the presence of a web client as green, when actually this breaks the thread model of end-to-end encryption.

    Dark mode by default?

    Hi,

Since a couple of days, setting the theme to "browser default" doesn't respect the actual browser light or dark theme and is always dark, which is very annoying and makes it harder to read.

How can I get it back to light mode when the browser is configured in light mode?

It appears that DTolnay was involved in the downgrade of ThePHD's talk from Keynote

Anyone fails to launch the Thunderbird Flatpak 115

    cross-posted from: https://lemmy.world/post/2231450

I'm on Arch linux + sway and running flatpak run org.mozilla.Thunderbird just hangs. I have reset to the default permissions in flatseal.

    Anyone has the same issue?
