Honestly I am too
im not a native speaker man, give me a break
I didn't know Chrischurch also had earthquake in 2011...
2004 is Aceh earthquake right? The fact that the earthquake was so strong the tsunami reached another country is mind-blowing to me...
Also just remembered that this year will be 20 years since that tragedy...
two “once in a century” flood within less than a year.
that is scary... any person who says climate change isn't real is a moron, because, i swear, it feels like every year i always something hear about the news about record breaking temperature, record breaking flood, etc.
i remember flooding in early 2020 (right before COVID hit) was the worst since 2007 in the province where i lived
Which earthquake if you dontt mind me asking?
Which election are you talking about?
Ignoring the fact that your answer is literally out-of-topic from the thread, you know that US isn't the only country that held its election this year right? I can think of Japan, Indonesia, etc. Referring your country's election as "The Election" like its the only election happening in the world is such a US defaultism behavior, and I hate that it happened way too often here.
Mine would be back in 2011, Tohoku Earthquake. Despite being pretty far from the epicentre, the earthquake is to this day the strongest I have felt...
I borrowed a textbook from school's library, and one day, poof, just gone. I tried searching it multiple times in my house, but I can't find it. To this day, I still can't find that book, and now, it's pretty much impossible because I moved from the house
The more recent one: I tried looking for a Japanese TV show I used to watch weekly a decade ago. It should be easy, as it's a popular show, yet I can't seem to find it! The only clue I have is that I remember the show actually collaborated with Detective Conan (the anime). Yet, I tried looking at each episode of Detective Conan anime and I can't find it...
I gotta say, your comment summarizes it the best. Best of luck to Ernest
What happened to kbin.social?
I can't seem to find any info on this, when I open the page it just responded with error 500. It was like this last week, and still is right now.
But US politics is shoved down everyone’s throats.
fuck yeah i agree!!
Dear mods. Thank you. I'm so tired of Americans act like they are the center of the world, smh
Sorry but what the fuck is that analogy
Get an app called flameshot
At least crop the screenshot, smh
I think it's better to be quiet on a matter you don't understand.
The fact that middle-click is used for pasting in Linux
Remember Aaron Swartz
Just letting you know that I think about your post from time to time
VERY late reply, but thank you the words :)
I was on a depression phase 10 months ago when this was posted, but unfortunately I'm still stuck on that phase. I don't know when I'll be ready to get back up, but recently I'm starting to see a glimpse of hope--a light at the end of the tunnel.
I just don't know how I'm gonna fix my big mistake in the past, I really don't. Fuck.

Do you have any fantasy worlds that you love so much that you want to move & live there forever?
Ever read a book, watched a movie, or played a video game that you love the universe/world so much that you want to move there and live there forever?
Whoosh, the first High-speed train in Indonesia and South-east Asia, currently operating in Jakarta and Bandung with maximum speed of 350km/h
The distance between Jakarta and Bandung are about 143km and Whoosh can travel between them for only around 45 minutes.
There is also a plan to extend this to go to Surabaya through Yogyakarta, but this isn't clear yet.

How does your daily commute to work look like?
I'm assuming that most of you are from the US so probably using cars, but lemme know if you use trains, subways, buses, etc.
Me? Back when I was doing an internship I walked to a nearby station for 10 minutes then transited to another train line, which could be an instant or 20 minutes wait. After that I walked for 10 minutes to my work place. So it was probably about 40 minutes of commute. Of course, I live in tropical country so I'm drenched in sweat as I arrive in the office.
Fortunately every year my city's public transportation seems to get better and as a result I barely needed to use cars.
What's the worst case of bootlicking you've ever seen?
Have you ever failed at something? How did you get back up after that?
Perhaps failure in college, class, career, or other things.

Recently, I started looking into electronic music stuff, and remembered that I used to listen to this mixtape back in 2019, and thought, wow this is really good! I think the quality is still holds up to this day. Instant classic, really.

The Eraser - Album by Thom Yorke
I was actually quite surprised at how good this album was--even way back before I was into Radiohead at all.
Personally my favorite songs here are The Eraser, Black Swan, and And it Rained All Night.
Which YouTuber still creates high-quality videos to this day?
Seeing the other post here about YouTuber that went downhill and seeing content creators I am familiar with makes me sad. But how about those that still makes great, high quality content?
