  • I can hear ypu americanness from behind the screen darling.

Free means freedom not "no payments" it takes huge money to develop and maintain software and infrastructures like these. So they need funding to survive.

  • Chill out my friend. We use FOSS and privacy respecting things to make our lives easier and more enjoyable . Don't stress yourself. If you need to do something then do it. No need to feel bad.

Something is always better than nothing. You've done so much in terms of better privacy and using FOSS so you're doing great and better than most people. Just live your life and improve things step by step.

  • Like I said in another sub,

I hate meta and zuckerberg religiously but all of these points seemed like making a fuss about nothing to make profit. Most things here seemed pretty normal and expected for a company that big and it's CEO.

Now I'm speculating if all of this book and suing it's writer is a psyops by meta to say "these are the worst things that they could come up with. These are as bad as it gets"

why should we sort 2024-day1 ?

    Hi guys.

I just did day1 of 2024 (I know, I'm late) this might be a dumb question but I reallydont understand why we should sort the two lists before substracting? I created some test cases with 10-20 items and calculated them manually, if you don't sort the list and just add all list1 items and substract from the sum of list2, you get the same answer. But it doesn't work with the large input file.

    Let's say list1 has elements (a,b,c,d) and list2 has (e,f,g,h).

    (a-e)+(b-f)+(c-g)+(d-h) = a-e+b-f+c-g+d-h = (a+b+c+d)-(e+f+g+h)

So the sorting shouldn't matter. Right? But it does. Am I too bad at basic math?

  • Wayland was such a bad implementation and execution from the start. Almost 2 decades passed and it's still not usable. Xorg with all its faults is still much more usable and the architecture, though bad, makes much more sense than what wayland is doing.

    Downvote me all you want.

  • Thank you for pointing this out about the missing firewalld step! I will update my post.

The docker network+reverse proxy is also how I handle things too.

Podman seems easy to migrate, and works fine with firewalls.

  • Being great is much different from being rich/easy/fun

Greatness stems from ethics and values, the values that america was and is based upon are lying, slaughter, bullying and selfishness.

America can never be great. The ground you walk on is held by the blood and bones of the true owners of that land, and millions of others who america slaughtered and is stil slaughtering for it's own "freedom" (which doesn't exist)

  • Making a simple, clean website with an ssg (like zola) with only HTML+CSS is an art of engineering imo.

If you want to make a giant website with lots of interactivity tho, I highly recomment nuxt. Much much better than next

FOSS DEX alternative? Linux on android?

Hi everybody. I have a rooted phone and I was thinking, If I can spin up something like Samsung DEX on my phone, alongside my android, that uses Linux, I can do 80% of my work just with my phone. Is that doable? Can someone provide me with more information?

    Focalboard administration

Hi guys. I want to deploy focalboard as a replacement for trello in our company, my confusion is : How can I manage the focalboard instance? (Doccker) For example manage boards, manage users, limit user access so anyone from the web can't just register and use our instance.

I asked in the mattermost groups but the support groups are totally dead. No response.

    integrating Google account with GNOME

Hi guys. So I'm wondering, is it safe(privacy wise) to integrate my google account into my GNOME desktop, only giving mail and calendar permissions to it? It's nice to have my calendar events into my top bar. (Please give technical answers)
